...Currently the league rules state that if you ride through the goal with the ball trapped in your wheel, it's a goal (not many people seem to realise this though)...
Yea, it's not covered directly but you could interpret this:
[]Reflection means a hit coming off of a offensive player’s bike or person whether purposeful or accidental.
[]If an offensive player adds momentum or direction purposefully to a reflection it is not a goal. All other reflections are goals....as meaning it's not a goal.
I'm still of the thought that if you use your wheel as a mallet to score* then your wheel falls under the fair mallet-to-mallet contact and that's not on IMO. Yea, it sucks because wheel shots are amazing for spectators and players alike.
*And as long as there are pro-ball joint and shuffle travelling/passing rules and anti-ball joint and shuffle scoring rules, then the wheel can have separate rules as well so blocking/passing/travelling with the wheel can be legal.

Thanks all for the home-town support! Brian, wished you were there! What can I say? We had a good group of teams to play. We played really well on Saturday and held our own on Sunday. Yorgo was hot, making spot on passes and always on the ball and of course his impressive breaks. Hassan made some spectacular goals and some amazing saves, our player of the tourney.
Malice, I know you had fun all the way to the quarters and it showed! Well done BAD, there was some really good polo coming from you guys. Cosmic, lay off the hairspray next time ;) Apples, Coños and Beards all played really well, representing London properly. Roxy played really well with pirate Oli (Berlin) and Holger (Karlsruhe), she made some great saves and was usually in the right position on the court running block/interference and making one goal (at least) off a rebounded shot from Oli.Greifmasters was an AMAZING Tourney!!! Thank you Karlsruhe! Awesome hospitality, awesome organization, awesome everything!
The floor was a bit slippy, especially on the first day, but the guys tried their best to sort it out providing wet and dry rags to wipe your tires with, cleaning it every morning and sweeping it between every quarter/semi and final games. Clean and grippy tires and taped mallet heads were necessary. Some people were running tires at low pressures to help. (I had a fyxation on the front and a brand new marathon plus on the rear at normal pressure and only had one real wash-out)
The barriers ruled, the size was excellent (bit small but that's my preference) and the netted goals were phenomenal.
I don't think I need to say anything about the mega-screen, but it was amazing. Can't wait until Greifmasters 2.

Can anyone reccommend (or not) either Camden Cycles or Holloway Cycles? or suggest another good bike shop in camden or holloway. New to the area and need to get a bike serviced and would like to give my trade to an independent if possible.
Thanks in advance.
Holloway is good, the mechanic is on this forum a lot, mostly in polo and classifieds...

... We all knew how important it was to put down numbers of London players for the Geneva list...
I didn't. I put my team down just because it's polo games. I didn't know* I was adding to a list that was supposed to dictate the number of London spots (which it didn't, really).
I'm not even sure if I'll be able to go to Geneva yet... even if ZU makes it through.*Yep, put that down to not fully reading everything all the time...

From the league rules
After a goal is scored/resetting the game
[]The scoring team is the team that has just scored a goal.
[]The conceding team is the team that has just allowed a goal to the opposing team.[]In case of the ball ricocheting from the goal past half court, the conceding team must possess the ball before scoring team can possess it. The ref can instruct for the ball be passed back across half court
[]After a goal is scored, the scoring team must return to their own goal area and cannot come back across center court until the ball or any player of the conceding team has come past center court.
[*]The conceding team takes possession of the ball. No conceding player with or without the ball can then pass half court until at least two players of the scoring team have returned to their goal area, one of these players can be a ‘goalie’ who was already in the goal area. *In the case of the scoring team taking undue time returning to their goal, the referee can call ‘game on’. Likewise, in the case of the conceding team taking undue time taking the ball past half court, the ref can call ‘game on’.*
[*]A player is not required to tap out for a foot-down after a goal has been scored but must return to their goal area.so, to stop a quick counter attack, after scoring you could hang around in the opponents half until your two team mates were in good defensive positions, within your half, then cross the half way line and wait just within your own half for just scored on team to attack?
...According to the rules, not really.
I agree with
personally i would like all 6 players to be withing their own Ds before play resumes, so each goal was clearly defined by a passage of play. Other wise quick goal retaliation could become quite messy on small courts such as downham.
which is why I've always included a full return to goal area in any rules I've written. But I acknowledge that the rest of the world plays the half court rule which in my view could open the potential to penalize the team that was just scored on even more.

yep, i'm trying to establish what axle to crown the pompinos geometry was set up for.
when i researched the frame the HTA was perfect, but if the forks are slightly long (which they look by the top tube slope in the picture above) then the front end may be slightly slack. so i wouldnt mind going shorter a-c.
In fork a-c length, 1cm = .5 degree change in HTA
i know the 32 refers to width but the height difference is also pretty noticeable, no?
As in 700c x 32? Yea, height difference depends on how much rubber the manufacturer puts on their tire. A 700c x 28 conti gatorskin on my rear wheel would fit easily into my frame but a 700c x 28 marathon plus wouldn't, I had to dent the chainstay bridge to make it fit (forward facing dropouts -I miss trackends- and using the same length chain...).

-
yep 700, they have another model which is 38 axle to crown, i'm thinking of trying those out.
With the same size tires, that would steepen your HT angle by 1 degree.
what will be your ideal choice of tyre for the front?
do you know how much bigger in mm, are the 28c or 32c in difference with the 25c?Really depends on the make as the 28 is supposed to refer to the inside diameter of the tire. 700x28 Fyxation tires actually measure more than 30mm externally (according to Hassan). Same with Marathon Plus.

Yep, I interpreted these two posts as insinuating what I said above, apologies if I'm mistaken.
Roxy, why not as well as speaking about the qualies, that is fine, do you say something about what is going to happen the Black Rebel in the league?
people star wondering what's going onWell, mike/roxy (not sure who posts as who anymore)...
And again, I interpret this as meaning you think there's something shady going on. And again, apologies if I'm mistaken.
No doubt on my end that the vote is over and that's what is going to be. (although there can always be a re-vote :s )
I'm just stating my opinion as I'm free to do.
(last time I checked, I'm definitely Mike.)
-
You both are insinuating that Roxy's (and others) posts are self-serving and about BR in the qualis. They're not, Dan has a broken hand ffs...
It's seriously about the inclusiveness of polo in all aspects, last year we left it open until the morning of. I'm fairly disappointed that the vote went for a No, and the closeness of the results shows there are others that feel the same way.
The argument that our number of spots in the euros was dependent on the number of pre-subscriptions is null and void by Clem's post...
(btw, it really wouldn't even matter if no other team did register for the qualis, the option should be there. IMO)

Yep, I'm in the camp of err on the side of caution, or you could just rule out the wheel shot and help eliminate the possibility of mistakenly calling a shuffle a goal.
I think that most other people would call it a goal as well, but not for that reason.
this vid[/ame] shouldn't be a goal?
