personally I think flat bars are more convenient for city use with all the stopping and starting.

on a similar note, does anyone have any experience with taking bikes on french trains? Is there a charge??

Thanks for the advice. asm; I am new to this, although ive ridden bmx for a while and rode brakeless, got sick of being pulled for having no brakes.

Im building up a singlespeed with a fixed/free hub, cant decide whether to have the brake on the front or the back. Is there any obvious disadvantages to either?
