I'm looking for some one that can help with the server side scripting element of an online stolen bikes database.
Onboard so far are a chap who can handle the SQL database side, and another that can handle the IA/Design side.
This is all spare time/not for profit.
If you are interested please get in touch.
Thanks,

Sadly no sign of either bike in the Great Blizzard of Brick Lane.
I have been keeping an eye on Gum Tree and eBay- does anyone have any suggestions about where else I should look? This may sound naive, but I cannot understand where bikes such as these are going- I see that Slaytanic's bike went over the weekend also, but to whom are these being sold?
It's not as if they can be used very easily by "conventional" cyclists...

My Rush and my Allez were both locked, the fixed gear wasn't because a friend was moving in, and the bike needed to be moved out of the way.
You live and learn.I'm pretty much convinced that the bike is going to be in the Thames by now- who the hell would they sell it too? It's not as if there are lots of highly polished Cannondale fixed gear bikes out there...

Hi all,
My bike, pictured below, has just been stolen- between 14.30 and 17.30 today in Greenwich, near Deptford Creek.
Also stolen was a purple Cannondale singlespeed with Bontrager Race Lite wheels, Miche crankset and white bar tape. Please contact me on either neil at hammet.eu or 07866 779 510 if you see either bike.
Thanks,

To be fair Scott has a point in terms of faff and cost.
The list of hubs that the converter works with is fairly comprehensive: http://www.firstprinciples.ca/comptab.html

Would this work?

The frame was originally finished in brushed alloy with a clear lacquer. When I got it off fleabay it had been sandblasted, undercoated, then painted black.
The finish was pretty knacked- the ebay advert said that it "could do with a respray", I got bored one day and went to the local DIY shop for some nitromors...
Obviously my inspiration was the radiator- well spotted "me"!The polishing was done once I had taken all the paint off, I used a little two man band called AC Metal FInishers down in South Bermondsey.
Total cost to have the frame polished and lacquered was £100. -

It was a 1FG Ultra, which was designed to be a singlespeed- vertical dropouts with an eccentric bottom bracket to put tension on the chain.
Both wheels are 700C- my camera/shooting angle have made the front look smaller.
The tyres are both Conti GP4000's.
I bought the front wheel off a member of this forum, sadly I do not know his handle- he rides a Mercian if that helps? The rear hub is a 135mm surly, now with a 13 tooth dura-ace sprocket as the 18 tooth surly in the picture was a little too "spinney".
The frame is bare polished alloy that has been clear lacquered to prevent oxidisation.

I agree that there is no point reinventing the wheel, and I have considered Wordpress etc.
As you probably know I had a couple of bikes stolen recently, and whilst they were a singlespeed and a fixed gear I want to make something relevant to anyone that cares about the bike they ride, hence it needs to be independant of a particular forum.
LFGSS is one of the most well read and vibrant forums dedicated to cycling in London, or for that matter fixed gear cycling full stop, and thank you very much for the offer of hosting the proposed database.
When I have something worthy of beta testing I shall be asking LFGSS to hammer it in the testing phase- I just need someone to help with the scripting side now!
