Lots of ways to go with that kind of spend. I spent ages just researching, test riding, and generally annoying various LBS. My cycleschemer pounds eventually went on one of these. Decent components for the money, super comfortable, looks nice. It's great for longer rides and for endless laps of Richmond Park. A coworker got one as well after having a go on mine. Nothing but good things to say about it.

pj i wrote an epic essay on pattern recognition for my MA recently.
i'm thinking about doing spook country for dissertation.
I think that Molly Millions/Sally Shears is worth an epic essay. I saw recently that Neuromancer is about to go into production with Hayden Christensen set to play Case. NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

chris crash any other sherlock holmes fans?
Hell yeah. Read those when I was much younger and they still stick with me. Just outstanding. I have an old 3 vol set printed in the 30s that belonged to a grandfather. Basil Rathbone or Jeremy Brett?
The Rider is an amazing read.
Pattern Recognition is also very, very good as is Spook Country, his latest. Gibson's prose is just so nice to read.
Recently finished the new Ian M. Banks (Matter) and am now halfway through a history of the blues.

Ummm. How long is a piece of string? What's the store selling? Who are the customers? That shapes things tremendously.
Your raise more questions than you answer. From a "this is where I buy bike stuff" perspective they're all about the same - there is no difference between wiggle, cyclesurgery, evans, and the smaller ones beyond stock size. Same layout, same alphabetical list of "stuff" in the left navbar, different colors.Feel free to whisper details. Happy to brain dump.
I'll show and swell the ranks and need to introduce myself anyway. Safe to work under the assumption that as the FNG most of the rounds are on me? :-P
