any gearing suggestions for the track?
or as this is probably a competitive day(Sun 25th May, 1pm - LondonFgSs Spring Track Day Event at Herne Hill Velodrome) and most will keep their special gearing under wraps to blow away the competition a pointer as to whether my 48/18 is a good start (i'd be a track novice)
whats the theory, is it to reach your ultimate spinning speed and keep it up for the duration without it being too easy that your legs flap wildly?
or use brute force to push the tallest gearing you can at a reasonable spin? -

dogsballs: in that case i have a chesini you'll dribble over at home, i havent any photos to hand but i'll be sure to post em in the future for you(prob next week after a long weekend trip to woolacombe bay) i've been collecting parts for it for ages. hoping to get it out in the summer.
my prob is i'm being really picky about this frame, i saw one a few years back and dribbled all over it in condor cycles, god i wish i could have afforded it back then.

I've been trying to find one of these in red for a long time now, there have been a few variations of rear stays over the years. i'm after any with carbon forks/rear stays (MASTER/carbon, colourscheme PRO7), so far no luck, just spotted a blue one on ebay but my hearts just not in that colour.
appreciate any help/eyes to find one.
after sizes around 56-58 seat tube
cheersJames

I've kind of ruled out Witcomb after this dafoney business - will only do my dough with a company I can respect.what does that mean? i dont know much about ride experience on a witcomb but Barrie(Witcomb) has been very helpful to me and friends in the past and they seem very reputable. just wonder how they seem to have earned a bad rep.

I'm under the impression that continental gatorskins are one of the best street tires. but....
I have a few Tufo tubular clinchers, does anyone have any first hand experience of them in a city environment? as i'd hate to ruin them within two weeks(if they should even last that long in that environment) like the last set of Panaracer(kevlar practice dual guard) tubulars i dared ride but i would like to enjoy them.

do we need to be on a list or just turn up?
do we need any experience to go on the track?
