ah yes, someone just reminded me that cordings do nice ones as well (cordings is owned by eric clapton, btw... fun trivia)
the tiny little scarves that the socks come with are called "flashes" or "garters". you tie them above the calf to keep the socks up. you can have the ends of the flashes sticking out from under your plus twos, for added style points. the colourful cuff of the socks isn't supposed to show.

"shooting socks" or "hunting socks" are what you're after. some options:
- burlington make good knee-length argyle socks
- farlows sell good shooting socks
- james purdy & sons make the nicest shooting socks available
- you can go into any of those touristy shops on regent street and get cheap kilt socks
- american apparel sell knee-high cotton socks. i wear these in the summer sometimes
- at a real push, you can wear football socks
- burlington make good knee-length argyle socks

on another note... the pashley tweed run clubman is up on ebay now. it's seriously lush. jealous i can't keep it.
i think some of you noticed that we pulled a previous listing off of ebay. we got bikes4africa to register as an ebay-recognised charity so that there weren't ebay fees to pay.the bike comes with two tickets for the tweed run, by the way.

if you're not coming and want to give your ticket away to someone, send an email from the address that you registered with to ted@tweedrun.com with their name, email, postal address and age and i'll make sure the tranfer happens.
transfers have to be done by monday 4 april.

hi all. we're still looking for a handful of people to be marshals for the next tweed run. if you've got some expertise on a bicycle and are free on 9 april and for a few evenings between now and then, please think about volunteering.
drop an email to volunteers@tweedrun.com

pashley, one of our lovely sponsors, has generously offered to make us a special edition clubman in tweed run livery. it's just being built up in the pashley workshop at the moment. handmade buckingham black frame in 531 with ivory highlights and gold luglining. it's sweeeet.
when it's done, we're going to auction it off on ebay, with all proceeds going to bikes4africa. the winner can collect and ride it at the tweed run. stay tuned for more info.
