She hates me as we had a drunken moment at Christmas - yes I actually did the office fling (dick) - and as I didn't want to take it further I am now on the receiving end of drunken texts and phone calls of undying love. Well I was. Luckily now its just turned into cereal wallls.

Hey all - been lurking on here for a while so hello.

Excuse the serious post but I was cycling to work today and noticed on the spot fines being doled out in Islington for red lights and this got me thinking how we have it all wrong in London. On one hand cycling seems to be encouraged on enviromental levels but then on another it seems that cyclists are hated across the board (police / bus, taxi, car and van drivers etc...).

I have now had two bikes stolen in London town and the police have done nothing. I read about the guy on here that had his bike destroyed in Brick Lane (seems the police again did nothing) and then yesterday I read about someone - though admittedly drunk - being knocked off his bike by some nippers.

I was wondering - did that google map for stolen bikes get set up? it seems someone needs to be made aware of how bad this problem is getting. perhaps if that gets filled we can point it in the direction of BBC Online or something...

This reads like a right winge but it all seems very backwards right now. I don't get it. Plus the fact that the roads we have to cycle on have huge holes in them.

Pisses me off when cars hare down Brick Lane at ridiculous speeds. That is an accident waiting to happen. I agree with the passive not the agressive in this case but my friend had something similar and sat outside until the police turned up. He has had to buy a new back wheel himself but is going to be forwarding the cost to the guy and the police are aware of the situation. At least he may be made to pay. I quite like the idea of the suicide bike and filming him and then having a dirty protest.

recommend logic too. it's an amazing program. not sure if you can still dip your toe in with logic express and if you enjoy that then expand to full version.

And they are double rusty. Back wheel has 5 speed cassette on it.. Only reason I don't just want to throw them away is I am not sure how hard parts are to come by in that size and I guess someone might find them handy... As I said though - they are ruined.

Anyone have any idea about the best thing for stripping a frame? I want to leave it kind of ruined so don't wont a pro job.

Does anyone know anything about Trusty frames? I have been given an old frame of theirs built by peugeot (i think) that is actually quite nice apart from the years of rust on it. I have a feeling they are/were something to do with Witcomb in Deptford. Any ideas?

@ Conan - It was something they made in the states. It's like one of his characters in the form of a pen if that makes sense?? It's pretty nice and about five inches high but needs to be sold to make way for more bike bits.
