Is anybody here looking for a Fender Jazz? I have a Mexican made 1960's Classic Series from 2014, has sat unused for the last few years and realistically I can't see when I'll use it again, which seems a shame. Plays really nicely, though I reckon it would benefit from a proper set up. Condition is great overall.

I bought a 2014 mk7(?) 1.4 tsi golf with 58,000 on the clock a couple of years ago, I’ve only had to replace the battery and recently one of the rear light clusters filled with water so I guess some seals are starting to go.
No problems beyond that so far. The idle is a bit chuggy at times when it’s not been used very much - I often don’t drive for weeks at a time - but that seems to right itself after a long drive.

I haven’t used the new sensor myself but from what I can gather image quality is pretty much indistinguishable between the two, low light auto focus is improved and you get some different film simulations.
I don’t think the lack of buttons would bother me, it has shutter speed and exposure comp on the body, aperture on the lens and you can map iso to the front dial, then you have a couple of buttons to assign to whatever you use most.
XS10 is more DSLR style, has a PASM dial and I think it has IBIS.
Basically within each generation of cameras they all have the same sensor whether you buy the flagship or the entry level model so you always get the same image quality. You just have to choose which body style suits you the best.

I made my first foray into Fuji cameras last year and picked up an XE3 with the 35mm f1.4 and have been really happy with it. Image quality is excellent and the controls are really intuitive. Auto focus is ok, a bit slow with the older lenses like mine - but not dreadful.
The only thing I'd say is to try and handle one if you can, while it's great that they're so compact and portable, I find it a bit small for my hands. They make grips and thumb rests etc which help but I'm planning to trade in for an X Pro2/3 at some point. XE4 is a bit of a departure in terms of controls, quite a few of the custom buttons have been removed so the operation is even simpler, if you like mapping things to buttons the older bodies are they way to go.

I think it's a mk 7.5, has updated lights clusters, apple car play etc so a bit more up to date.
@jsabine thanks yeah that was my thinking, interior looks pristine so I doubt it was a cab! I asked about the previous owner and usage but they didn't really know any details which made me a bit suspicious.
@Libraio Great tip thanks - I'll check that, no mention of any belt changes anywhere so far
I basically just want a comfy reliable family car so defaulted to the Golf, was suprised how much of premium they command over similar cars.

As a total newb to car ownership would you go for a 2014 VW Golf with 50,000 miles on the clock or a 2017 model with 80,000 for the same price (£9.5k) Both have a FSH and similar trim level. The older one is a 1.4l TSI petrol engine and the newer a 1.0l version with similar performance but lower emissions.
I doubt I’ll do more than 5,000 miles per year and plan to keep the car for a good few years.
