Though I was left feeling sick with the corporate greed, the PROPER journalist hat offset that a bit.
But yes - essentially here is a man trying to steal enough money to save the lives of 200,000 children in the DRC. How a human can stoop this low I cannot fathom.

So the other day I got caught RLJing by the City of London Police and received a £30 fine (near the occupy lsx camp - they're watching everything like hawks down there).
HOWEVER. Along with it I was presented with a "Road Safety Road Show Voucher".
This essentially says if I go to a reeducation camp 'for at least 40 minutes" on Friday morning they'll waive the fine. Will anyone be joining me?
I'm in reeducation camp RIGHT NOW.

The Metropolitan Police Service are fining away (I saw four finees) at the north east entrance to Victoria Park, (Molesworth Gate I think?) where cyclists come off Wick Road and go over the little triangle of pavement WIHOUT DISMOUNTING.

Really, really enjoying CM 7.3 for the Desire in the short time I've had it. One important note though:
DON't USE ROM MANAGER it buggers things up on the desire at the moment. You have to do it manually but isn't too hard. Thread about this on android forums here, which is a good place to start.Things I've noticed so far are 720p video recording which works really rather well, more customisable options than you can shake a stick at and that sweet Gingerbread screen off animation. Also I think even my battery life is improved.
Basically it's like having a new phone. Haven't tried any other ROMs yet but will post here when I do.

Got it working now - just HTFU'd and factory resetted and am now rocking Cyanogenmod. WOOT

right. Have just rooted my Desire and manually tried to flash CM 7 (two different versions) but have got stuck in a bootloop. Also as I sort of bumbled through the whole backup ROM thing and I don't think that's worked (there's nothing do restore to in Clockworkmod 2.5.0.7).
Should I just wiped data/factory reset in the recovery menu? I'vealready had to have a shit without internet access and it's not an experience I would care to repeat.

I rode home drunk tonight - I've been doing it for years (I started this thread in 2008 and you can read this beauty as well) but tonight i fucked someone else up. I cut in front of a girl I work with and put her over her handlebars. As it happens she was fine, as was her bike, but I just wanted to kind of officially say that however sweet it is to get drunk and ride a bicycle that was the last time ever that I'll do it.
