It shouldn't be a problem, its just there are other things I would do with a brand new phone, and once you've spent a couple of days using 2.1, you might realise that getting 2.2 isn't much of an issue
Its like buying a brand new OTP bike, then the next day re-building the wheels with new spokes: good but just go out and ride!
Since you put it that way...
Whilst I'm on here though, best Android app i've gotten so far is London Journey - essentially the TFL website in your hand with GPS.

Hola
Just picked up a Desire on O2 today and it's fucking sweet. Annoyingly though, it's still running 2.1. Did a bit of looking round and it could be as long as a month for the update to go live for O2 users. Even more worrying Android forumengers (Androidgers?) are saying this is because O2 are stripping out functionality like WiFi hotspot. So I think I'm gonna debrand my Desire: method kindly outlined here by zeepool - uses a Goldcard from klutsch.com (whatever that is). You end up with debranded 2.1, and the option to download 2.2 pops up immediately.
2 questions though before I begin
1 - is this gonna invalidate my warranty?
2 - waiting for my SIM to be activated, but connected to internet via wifi - will the firmware upgrade be available to me or should I wait til I get bars on my phone (shouldn't be too long but want to try tonight) -

Here's a good blog post on that Mail article from enemiesofreason replete with amusing racist comments such as:
"And saying that ISN’T racist? Please. Get off your liberal high horse and take a look at the world today. Of course it would be better. These non-white british mums who are having so many kids are also found to be the ones most likely in poverty or on benefits, the kids grow up to be criminals and Britain will be destroyed."
-
But I think the thrust of the article is that, unless we review our immigration policy and/or keep allowing non-whites to bread then the ethnic makeup of our country will continue to change.
Whether this is a good or bad thing is up to the reader, however it is something that we (may) need to consider if we think that the ethnic makeup of our country is important.
]The thrust of the article is to stoke the fires of racism smouldering in the Daily Mail's readers' souls by making them ask questions such as "are there too many brown people in England"?
The Daily Mail is a malignant cancer blighting our society.

Hullo forum long time no post.
Got an unridden 57cm Bianchi Pista frame with some second hand stock bits attached for £250. Looking at the logo I think it's a 2010 model. Drilled for rear brake too.
London's Stoke Newington for pickup. Otherwise whatever DHL postage is to your place. (pickup preferred)
no splitting
Stock 2007 RC stem (used)
Stock 2007 forks (used)
Stock 2007 cranks (used)
Stock 2007 headset (used and could do with a grease)
Stock 2007 BB (used but smooth and solid)
Unused Metal Stick seatpost (not stock)Frame is new and unused. See Flickr page for more pics.
Reason I have this is I had a 2007 frame that developed an alarming rusty hole on a downtube. Took off all the components apart from the ones you see here attached and sent it back to AW Cycles who were bloody excellent and got me this replacement frame sent back within a few weeks. With bits reattached. Can't recommend them enough.

As mrs Mongrel and I are expecting, tragically I must say goodbye to my trusty desktop computer, Rubbish, to make way for a cot and all associated paraphenalia.I was going to sell this, but have totally fucked up doing a clean reinstall of Windows (Was trying to get Windows XP Ultimate Edition on there but for some reason it's not playing ball and I can't be arsed to fix the problem - hence freecyclage. Wanted to offer it on the forum before putting it on Freecycle.
It's dirty, there is a printer cartridge box holding up a fan to the graphics card, and it's rather loud. But it's free!
It's a fairly decent desktop actually - graphics card isn't too shoddy. Would play Civilisation IV quite happily, but obviously is not going to run Crysis Warhead on high detail.

Probably a repost but topical:
