Actually saw a kid a week or two back riding with no hands, in his left was the lead of his dog running at his side and in his right hand was his mobile! that was on Adilade Rd at about 5pm.

Having said that I have noticed an ever increasing number of cyclist using mobiles while they are riding, so I guess everyone is at it.

I was going round Swiss Cottage a couple of months back, there was a guy in a lefthand drive car using his mobile whilst crawling along in the traffic, coincidentally sitting just at the side of the road was a cop car, the two coppers were out on the pavement enjoying a can of coke. They definetly saw this guy, I made eye contact with them and gestured towards the motorist, they looked at me then looked at the motorist, looked at each other then looked away! Couldn't be arsed,I felt like getting off my bike and taking a note of their i.d. numbers and reporting them.

The police should spend their time pulling over and fining motorists that use their mobile phones. I ride from North West London to central London everyday and in a week see huge numbers of car drivers using their phones. I can only assume that nicking cyclist involves little or no paperwork. 3 points and a 60 quid fine is laughable for using a mobile. It should be a 5000 pound fine and an instant ban! The amount of ' school run mums' in their 4x4s using mobiles while they manouvre is astounding.
