I'm 6'1 and ride a XL, but would never usually ride the largest size in a range. I tried a L and didn't get on with it, I think because the TT length was 55.5, and that combined with a relaxed ST angle (meaning the saddle has to be a bit further fwd) meant I had v little reach to the bars. If you're in London check out On One's new shop to see them in person.
EDIT: to answer your other questions: you don't need any special headset as the canti hanger is like a separate headset spacer that fits on the steerer. One of the bikes in this thread as a road fork so yes, that would work too.

They spoke to the shop and when I went back this afternoon the assistant manager gave me the £13 back in exchange for the tool.
So, a happy ending.
I think evans no longer record purchases under £30 on their system. I had this problem trying to replace a cateye rear light that had for no reason stopped working. Ended up using a bank statement to prove purchase and got it exchanged, about 10 months after purchase. Then when the replacement stopped working as well, I got that one exchanged too with no hassle. Holborn seem to be pretty good these days.BTW, I bought the ritchey torque key with replaceable bolts online (from sigma sport, I think).

good luck, take photos of your injuries (and if they swell up even more later, take more photos). See if there's any council CCTV as well as shops (soon as you can because these often get deleted pretty quick). Did the cab have any identifying features (adverts on the side, slightly unusual model etc)? When you report to the cops get a crime number (CRIS number). Basically, that thread linked to above has all the useful info. Good luck.

Walking up upper st martin's lane today there was a disparate group of gents in various outfits chasing after random cyclists. They called out to a couple of hipsters going south towards to trafalgar square, but couldn't get their attention. They had more luck with a lad on a bmx and about 6 of them jogged behind him up st martin's lane shouting some bizarre refrain I couldn't quite catch. Possibly promoting a play or shooting an ad, but it was pretty eccentric.

Anyone see what was going on on Seven Dials today around 5pm? I heard loads of noise/shouting etc and turned to see 3 or 4 guys holding someone down on the ground. The guys holding him looked like cyclists as there were a few (nice looking) fixed bikes leaned against the wall nearby. Attempted bike theft?

Corner of Regents Park this morning, watch out!
I had fun this morning. Down the side of regents park. Loads of pigs on bikes by the gate randomly stopping cyclists. I dont know why, they didnt stop me. So, to be helpfull I jumped the red light onto Marellabone Road also throughing in an illigal right turn (I do this every day after the cars from the right stop before the other lights change). I heard a wistle and a shout from behind me, a quick and descreat look over my sholder shows that one has decided to give chase. So, I wait at the next light where he nearly caches up still shouting (I dont look back) lights change and I ride calmly off, this happens twice by wich time the shouts are interspersed with swearing and huffing and puffing. I put him out of his missery and ride off up the road. When I looked back he was miles back and looked like he was stopping.
I probably shouldnt go that way tomorrow.....All a bit Dancing James really. (sorry James)
The Marylebone road is really bad, especially if you're trying to turn right into regent's park and you're travelling east-west.

There's a few cops hanging around theobalds road going west as it becomes a bus only lane. Don't usually use that lane, and tend to go down the linking road to high holborn. Got pulled over and informed it was definetely for BUSES ONLY, and that I should use the far nicer multi-lane road (down past cycle surgery) and onto the cyclist-friendly high holborn. The cops themselves didn't seem too bad and were pretty understanding, and it's obviously some initiative they have to carry out. I doubt that stretch is any better in terms of traffic anyway, but worth avoiding today.

If you must get conti, go for the grand prix 4 season instead, gripper with the same puncture protection.
+1 I've lost grip and even hit the deck riding conti gatorskins. 4 seasons seem to provide a lot more confidence especially in wet conditions. They are a bit more expensive but seem to last a long time.

I used the tektro cr520 for a while. Braking seemed OK. They were fiddly to set up and the springs needed to be bent in order to get balanced tension on either side.
Now using avid shorty 4, which are a big improvement. The link wire design I found a lot easier to set up than the straddle wire on the tektro.

I've always had problems with those getting the right strength - it tends to get stronger and kind of stewed if you leave it too long. Also, I manage often to allow the grinds to escape past the press. Probably not doing it right, though, so should give it another try, or just use paper filter method.

Been waiting for the remastered version of MBV's Loveless to come out so I can have decent quality version, instead of mp3, but Shields seems to be taking even longer to remaster it than he did to record it. Might have to explore some of these other bands in this thread.
One band heavily influenced by MBV was Smashing Pumpkins, especially on Siamese Dream. Some quite enjoyable Shields type moments in that album (Hummer comes to mind).
