^I wouldn't base my decision on that review, seems a bit odd (stem broke?). I'd always expect to have to check and tighten everything on a mail order bike, and somehow suspect that's the reviewers problem. I do agree on cantis though. I'd ask them to put Vs on instead. I got the frameset alone, but mine now looks like an on-one build because seems to make sense.

Never got on with my pompino. BB seemed v high. ST angle v slack (so to the HT angle to an extent). Maybe I just miss the quick handling road fixed conversion/track frames I've ridden. It was most fun offroad, I found.
Reading on the web, I notice On One changed the fork once. Makes me wonder if they changed the fork length (extra clearance) but didn't adjust the frame, slackening all the angles in the process. I've often thought it could benefit from a road fork for handling reasons.

I regret the Daily Mail style tone used in The Times piece, language designed to provoke fear and horror, e.g. people being 'thrown under lorries' etc. I would be interested in how much they've worked with other orgs (LCC, BC, Sustrans etc). At least they titled it 'cities fit for cycling' and not 'cities safe for cycling'.

on the subject of black cabs, witnessed one recently driving in an aggressive and bullying manner and immediately knew something was up. He proceeded to drive the wrong way around a roundabout before coming to a screeching halt behind a car that was waiting at a zebra crossing for some peds, then started beeping his horn and flashing his lights. But, of course, it's all ok cause cabbies are exemplary professional drivers and an invaluable asset to London.

Seem to remember a story in the news about a spate of insurance scams whereby people were deliberately causing accidents then pocketing cash from whatever action proceeded. There was even footage showing someone blatantly causing a shunt on a roundabout. The description of the incident seems strange and almost deliberate, so it just reminded me of it.
Anyway, good luck. From what you say, it's you who should be receiving compensation.

The China Mieville book I'm reading atm has elements of steampunk; difference engines, steam driven machines etc. In fact, i like it more than The Difference Engine itself which I never finished as it didn't seem to go anywhere. Least favourite Gibson novel in fact.
Think I remember the genre defined as an alternative history based on the idea of the computer being invented in the 19th C.

^that often happens down that road (endell st). I'm usually on a road bike and just go fast down the middle of the lane which usually works, but I still sense sometimes that a cabbie is desperate to tailgate me. I find there are certain roads where, for some reason I can't work out, drivers (often cabbies) behave like arseholes. Another example is the sliproad off the Euston Road going east, at UCLH/Gower Street.
The suggestion above about TFL getting taxi drivers to have some form of cycle training sounds like a v good idea to me.

The article has its flaws. But she's right we do have a bizarre cycling culture. Having just come back from Amsterdam I can see the stupidity of London cycling with fresh eyes.
