Wonder what to make of this:
"Although Vaughters has said he expects Wiggins to honour his contract, with the possibility that Tour de France champion Alberto Contador will be available, Garmin may wish to cash in on the British rider."
Contador at Garmin? Could be good for the sport. The leading tour winner riding for the one team you could have any faith in re doping.

Thoughtful article in the Torygraph, which highlights Martin's half-baked thoughts:

Didn't want to keep this thread going, but seemed like a decent article.

The bikes on trains restrictions are for trains arriving in London between 07:00 and 10:00 or departing between 16:00 and 19:00.
So you can take your bike on the train to Brighton whenever you want in the morn and same back in the eve.
I thought that, but just remembered Brighton also has these restrictions now.Maybe you could take your bike on as luggage by dismantling it a little bit.

is it happening when you try to get the pedals at the right position before moving off at lights etc? I have memories of spinning the cranks to end up with a pedal whacking my right shin. Doesn't happen if you use clipless pedals so much. Don't know what to suggest other than maybe some less spikey pedals, as it's likely to happen anyway.

anyone planning on doing this?
I expect some of you have done it before, lots of lumpy bits I gather including Ditchling Beacon.
I'll probably be doing this. It doesn't go over Ditchling though as it's run over the western end of the downs. 2000m of height gain doesn't sound huge compared to some sportives, but I know the area quite well and it's all short steep climbs and not much flat for any distance. -

For what it's worth this is my view. Study what you want at university, not what you think you should do because you think it will guarantee you a good job. However, try to be active in clubs/societies/events, do some work experience, try to get contacts in the industry areas you're interested in, and generally broaden your CV. You should then stand out in applications. Obvious advice, but it's what I've learned over the last few years.

What kind of sandwiches?
hard to tell, wasn't as close as this:

Not just outside London? Yeah, They're just as bad, just a different kind of twat. I had some sandwiches thrown at me recently, which missed by a few inches. Caught them up and took a photo of their car, complete with blacked out windows (with cardboard) and reg number, and reported to the police. If you are in Sussex you can report this stuff under their operation crackdown of whatever it's called.

I'm thinking of doing a TT this week, and going through the usual difficulty in finding a decent stem that will give me a low enough position to make using clip on bars worth while. I've got a 1 1/8 steerer, and an oversize (31.8mm) handlebar and am looking for a 73 degree stem or thereabouts. I'm almost about to try an adjustable stem.

That is something like instant karma. The instant he forms the thought 'Looks like a bit of a risk I might hurt those cyclists, but I'll carry on as I'm in a hurry' he ends up smashing someone's property and getting caught on camera doing it. The fact that cyclists were endangered kind of lessens the karma aspect, though.
Fixed.Yeah, we don't know he's actually malicious. It's easy to assume malice on the part of drivers when often they probably are just not thinking.
