Details of the Sunday session..... here -> http://www.londonfgss.com/post597591-233.html
The Sundays are booked for the foreseeable future, barring 2 (I think) dates later in the season where the track was already booked. Obviously its weather permitting like everything else, but the potential cancellation of a couple of sessions due to bad weather isn't a concern.
Last year, I think, only 2 or 3 Saturdays were lost because of the weather.

Sorry guys, I've been living in a world with no internet for the last couple of weeks.
Right Sundays....
9am-12am, £6. Due to wanting to make it a higher quality session and a possible shortage of coaches/helpers we won't be doing inductions or sorting out hire bikes - so only people with their own bikes, or one of the season long Fuji hire bikes can ride.
Ability wise, if you can keep up with the medium groups over the last couple of weeks you'll be fine. There will inevitably be a race or two, but not as many as on Saturdays where racing is the main thing we can do with the large numbers. We'll do similar exercises to on Saurdays - taking laps, rotation, as well as horrific stuff like whistle training. If anyone's got any suggestions or specific things they want to train for we can most likely fit something in. It sounds like the Team Rollapaluza Sprint Squad wants sprint training, so we can do something for that.
Hopefully the weather won't be as shite as its threatening to be at the moment.

Cheers for the info guys. I'm pretty keen to give it a go.
Snowy, the offer sounds good but it'll be a hassle riding the thing over there, attaching brake/s and on whatever gear they run, (what is it, high 50s?).
@eke, are you a certified speedway regular now? I might be busy this Sunday, but I'd fancy it next, if you're going and can "plug me in" as it were...

@Ved, that's a very generous offer. TBH I don't know if the track really needs too much help really. There are enough of the regular users who chip in here and there with bike maintenance, grass cutting etc.
There are 2 or 3 of these working parties a year, just to have a big drive to get things in order, in this case just before the season kicks off.
After everything's up to scratch its just a matter of keeping on top of everything which doesn't take too much work.
- cheers!

I think Peter G (whoever he is on here), one of the DJs of the night deserves a namecheck. He decided to re-qualify his mate, without even realising his original time was comfortably fast enough. Speedy stuff for a man from the1950's, I just couldn't let myself be beaten by a man in tweed!
DNS for Snowy, the other DJ. What happened? Catch your sac on the saddle?

[cough]........lfgss winter hill climb championship...........[/cough]
as there ever been one, who would be interested. man/woman and machine against the hill and the clock. there's a nice long drag out kent way called cudham lane that would be perfect unless there are other suggestions.......... just a thought.
Good idea. I hate hills and I think I'd give it a go. A fixed only hill climb, back to the old days. Would be especially fun for those who don't have the parts/inclination to change their gear beforehand, or better yet, do change their gears, but ride all the way out to the climb on 56"s.
Chalkpit Lane from Oxted would be a true test. Even BMMF might agree that it's a hill then.
Cudham's barely a hill, and way too long for a hill climb, Chalkpit's much more like it. Short but steep.
Good spectating for those wise enough not to attempt it then a nice opportunity for a pint somewhere off clarks lane, which is the highest road in the South East of England, and as previously mentioned, has some pretty fantastic views.
Could do it sooner rather than later, though hill climbing is usually an end of season thing.

also - for rolling fixed, it's often easier to "clip into" MTB pedals as they're double sided, thus avoiding that retarded leg abduction/wide leg pedaling, just to get onboard!
(I'm a pro at that look). You say that, but then a large percentage of this forum (more or less than 50%?) use clips and straps.

Ah right, see in the old days Herne Hill's main night was Monday, and Wednesday was the cop-out night, thats why I would've been free to go down. Last year it all switched round for some reason. Weather maybe?
So much so that now Wednesday will be the only league night and Monday is "race training". Still, maybe go down as a one off some time if anyone wants to organise it.
I'll leave the list til later.

Racing on Calshot is tough though, and the local riders have a real advantage, knowing how to handle the bankings properly.
Think I'm aiming for the same kinda stuff as RPM, and everyone keeps mentioning "Palace" and "Hillingdon" to me. Not so sure about that.
I'd be up for a visit to Preston Park sometime though, what day is the league on? I went years ago and it's a really nice atmosphere there. The corners take a bit of getting used to though...
EDIT
Almost forgot the big one, Good Friday. Maybe some incentive to actually train this winter!
Rainy today. Piss takingly sunny a few hours later. It's on tomorrow though - weather dependant of course. Jan's Cafe won't be open for business on Sundays, so bring your own supplies. I can make people a cup of tea if you ask nicely and chip in for the tea-bag fund.
