Hi Guys,
I recently had my frame sprayed.. and am now on the road to getting the rest of the bits sorted.
So, I got a Campag Strada crank on ebay, which to my surprise came with a nice Campag BB, with loose bearings. £41 inc postage, and pretty much perfect!Ok so, not a problem, but my frame has some holes in the bottom. See pics and they might help :)

Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a wheelset at the moment, Paul at kiwicycles isn't being that quick to respond so thought I'd see what else is out..
I have an orange frame, so am looking for white or black deep V's.. Other colours maybe considered though :)Its a road frame, with 128mm drop out at the back, so need something with 126 or 130'ish at the rear...
Willing to pay upta about 150 notes for the right stuff..Cheers,
Rob. -
Hello,
Ok, so I've just had my nice old frame sprayed up, and now I need some wheels. (Black Deep V's if anyone has?)
The frame I used was an old road frame, the rear axle width is 128mm. So, how do I get decent wheels for it?
Is it just the axle that needs to be wider with some spacers to keep the cog in place? Can I just buy any old track wheel or what?
I've emailed Kiwi cycles about getting a set, but no reply so far (3 days ago)... Bah.Cheers,
Rob. -
Well, lets go out (same night, same time as other bikes have been nabbed) put our bikes outside as bait, and keep someone looking on them. When they come, we go out, and kick the shit out of them.
I hate this crap. I've been lucky in london so far and only lost little things (seats etc) but I'd be so gutted if someone swipped my £200+ wheels... GRRRRR!

Hi Guys (and gals),
I'm currently stripping my bike for spray, and just remembered about the ring on the fork (is this called the crown race? I have this in my head, but dunno..)
How the fk do I get it off? Its well lodged on for sure. I want to keep it as its a Campag headset and I've got the rest off pretty smoothly. Its pretty late and I live in a flat, so have gently (with a hammer) tried getting a knife blade in between the ring and the fork, but its too tight it seems (chunky knife maybe...)
I'll give it some more juice in the morning, with a thinner knife. Try get it off in little bits. Anyway, anyone know of a better way, that is less likely to leave it all scratched up?Hmmm...

My phone dropped out of my pocket on a bus somewhere west london way. I forgot about it all day, then rang it from my grils phone. No answer.. Bugger...
2 hours later I get a phone call.. Bus driver heard it ringing on his route, it was lodged in between a seat at the back, and was now back at the depot... In Bow.
I happen to live in Bow, and was walking past the depot as I live about 2 mins down the road. Picked up in 30s flat. Lucky bastard. -

Wow thanks Tyan. Those suggested combos will come in handy for sure. Useful info.
As for the eyes.. I'm hoping to drop the frame off as is (maybe some lighter fluid to tidy it up a bit) and have the paint blasted away.
I don't really have the room in my flat to do it. And not really into doing it on the street outside. Thanks all.. :)

Cool cheeres SBB.
1 - I guess the Nitromors is just going to strip the paint from the bike... Could be fun :)
2 - Thanks for the advice on the wheels. I was wondering about the freewheel. Now I know.
I'll keep my eye on ebay, or if I'm feeling flush, treat myself at BLB's to some Velocity goodness.3 - You mention dawes, is it a dawes frame then? Cheers for the confirmation and suggestion for the BB.
Your answers combined with the SB guide, is pretty much all the info I need to get cracking :)
Thanks,

Hi guys and gals..
I currently ride a super colourful MBK http://www.flickr.com/photos/untitledlab/2091138925/in/set-72157603390542694/
You might have seen it around the Old St area... Anyway..I'm currently building up another bike and am looking for some bits of advice on various aspects of my project.
The frame I got from ebay, its had Dave Marsh stickers on the frame. I've removed any bits I didn't need (file).
Am pretty happy with the results. Not perfect, but nicer than before.See pics here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/untitledlab/sets/72157602779340566/
I've just added the Cinelli stem this evening... Nice.
Ok so, the questions. Most are probably pretty basic. I come from mountain bikes, so this is a new adventure:
- Frame. I'm planning to get it done at Amourtex (close to home / cheap).
I wanted to know about getting it shot blasted to remove the old paint. Can I get this done? If so,
How much do I need to clean the frame? I've removed the stickers as best I can, but its still sticky, is that ok?
What about oil, do I need to get in with a brush and clean out any bits of oil from the BB housing?
Paint. I'm looking at Matt Black (Stealth). Do I need to fashion something to put in the BB hole to stop paint getting into the thread? If so, any suggestions?
Wheels. The frame used to be geared (I removed the hanger)... Does this effect the wheels I get?
I presume I can get standard race wheels? I've been looking at some like the Campagnolo Khamsin or similar, probably from the ebay...
I'm planning to go fixed. I guess the Khamsin's (or similar) will require me to get some spacers and a cog? And then they'll be ready to go?My BB housing measures 68(.5?)mm..
Wiggle shows me many widths for this size, and also English / Italian sizes. How do I know?!
Do I need to get my wheels in first and then measure what would make the best straight line?
I've taken a snap of the base of this section, it says Cinelli, maybe this will help anyone who knows :)

Ok thats about it... hopefully this will get me through to near the end.
Thanks again for your time,
Rob. - Frame. I'm planning to get it done at Amourtex (close to home / cheap).

Also - What tools do I need to tighten this bad boy up? Its got some funky looking holes / bits on it..
Anyone got the tools to borrow for the price of a pint? :)
Ohhh! And, where do I find some bolts for my Strada so I can get rid of the 2nd ring?
Thanks :D
