Lovely Dutch bike for sale, in near perfect condition. NO FOR SALE ELSEWHERE
It's a unisex 3 speed (hub geared) Dutch bike, made in Holland, with a kick-back brake (+ normal front brake), mud guards and chain cover for grime free riding, dynamo lights. The only tiny bit of damage is to the rear light, which took a knock on something when in the house so it's slightly cracked around the edge. Still works though, so it's all good. It's done no more than 30 miles from new and has always been kept in doors.
My wife is 5'5" and it's fine for her and if I raised the saddle it'd be ok for me too and I'm 6'.
We're selling as it never gets used and we've got a baby on the way and so need to free up some space. It's a steal at £175 and I'll throw in some panniers we got for it which are worth around £30.
We're in Forest Hill.

If possible, could this thread be moved from the 'wanted' area to the 'complete bikes' for sale area?

thanks very much.

Dredging this thread up. The Dutch bike I posted up there ^^ quite a few years ago is for sale again.
Since that post it has probably been ridden once and has been in our spare room ever since. The spare room is going to be needed for a baby(!) in a few months so the bike that never gets ridden really needs to find a new home. The only tiny bit of damage is to the rear light, which took a knock some something when in the house so it's slightly cracked. Still works though, so it's all good.
It's moved with us to Forest Hill (even more hills), so it's south east for a viewing. We don't have the basket anymore, but will throw in a set of very nice panniers made for it.
£175 for a great bike in virtually new condition. It's a cracking deal. Can try to find a few more pics - just PM me.

As said above, Sydenham is massive and has got some not so hot bits. However, the nice bits are really good. The high street is decent and improving and I think will continue to given how the surrounding area is on the way up. The extention of the overground really has made a difference. The stupid mustache ratio has shot up since that's been open.
I've lived in Forest Hill for the last 5 years and in that time the area has really improved, to such an extent that it's now meant to be one of the most desirable places in London to live, so I hear. There are lots of independent shops that have been becoming well established and the swimming pool reopening is another good thing. I have friends who live in Sydenham and they say that they can really see a of Forest Hill effect spreading into this side of Sydenham. In the last couple of years the prices in Forest Hill have started to go up again, and it sounds like people are now looking to Sydenham to give the sort of value that Forest Hill did a few years back.
Also, there is a really nice bakery in Sydenham called IBS Bakery, which always makes me laugh. Get your IBS here.

Can't see how you'd be improving the bike by swapping forks. Buys ham and cheese sandwich. Sells ham.
I'd really like a Domane, or a BMC Grand Fondo. Did you go for the colour in the link? I've seen a couple of shockers out there thanks to that project one thing trek do. Designers are there for a good reason.

What's wrong with that Speedvagen all of a sudden?
It's no different from most bikes in this thread nowadays...Sram22, Enve 3.4, Quarq, Chris King, 'high end steel' - probably rides like a charm.
Actually a good paint job on a vagen, all teamed up for a great cause and now this
became the high light of American wankery..?? Fuck off.Got to agree with this.
For me it's the stem and seat post / mast thingy that ruin it. Some components shouldn't be colour coded. Stems in particular are a very difficult thing to get right.

Here's another fun 'Which bag should I get' post.
I just need something for day-to-day commuting, trouser/shirt/shoe/lunch combo and some Audax rides. My heart says Barley but perhaps Nelson for the size increase? My mind says Super C Audax (same capacity as Barley?) for ease of access? I'd rather have more room than I need than not enough though.
Apologies for being a fuck nut.
I'd go for a Nelson longflap. I have been using one for carrying food and clothes to and from work everyday for about 3 years and wouldn't want anything smaller (I also always keep a waterproof jacket in there too, in case of emergencies).
Also, I'd defo get the longflap over the standard Nelson. I can't see why anyone would ever bother with a non-longlflap version, the long flap (which you don't have to use) just makes the bag more useful, should you need it. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail etc etc.

I passed shortly after 9 and the police had an area taped off. The bike (Fuji feather I believe) was on the pavement looking a little bent up and there was some blood on the edge of the road / curb / pavement, which was really not nice to see. No ambulance at the scene so the rider had already been whisked away.
I was pleased to see the indecent being treated seriously by the police and that getting to the bottom of what happened is clearly more important than the flow of traffic around a busy junciton.
Hope the rider is ok.

Big +1 to that.
