Before the great switch over, someone posted a link to a nice lightweight Ti audax style bike with disc brakes. The link for more info was to a thread documenting the build on a German website. The posts about it were lost. Could someone post it again if they can remember what I'm talking about.
Thanks

Hovis, have you looked at the ferry times? They are a bit shit from Newhaven. IIRC, it is two sailings a day - late morning and late evening. Depending on your pace, it could be a bit of a dash for the morning or a waste of a day for the evening. I took the evening one last year and it's fine. If I did it again, I'd book a cabin - I attempted a couple of poor hours kip in a chair. We then just rode straight to Paris. If you wanted to save time, you could ride down sharpish after work, catch the late ferry then have a ridiculously early start in Dieppe for your first day. HTH. Joe.

Kinesis Crosslight disc wheels are 11sp compatible and a light wheelset for £270 seems pretty good:

A nice write up of The Highlands and Islands here: http://marcusjb.wordpress.com
I think the author may post on here occasionally. Some nice pics to remind me how great riding in Scotland is. Also a Audax Club Hackney jersey in one of the pics.

Thanks for the offer chap. SE23 if you can bring yourself to commute for the duration. Probably not worth it for you i'd have thought?
Just seen this - if you are still looking for a plumber, there is a really good bloke in New Cross Gate that I am sure would do the work for you. He got top marks from me for cycling round to have a look at the job I wanted doing. He then did the work quickly and neatly and refused payment until I was sure that the leak had stopped and everything was all good.

Does anyone have a recomendation for the best decent sized saddle bag and does anyone have a second hand one for sale?
Would you like to borrow a carradice and support? I have a Nelson long flap and a Super C as well as Bagman V1&2. You are welcome to any combination of them if you want them for a trip. PM me if interested.
NB. I'd really like them back though. I lent a cheap bike bag to someone on here a long time ago and the fucker never returned it. /rant /csb

Hi Psee,
I think this is a great build. I really like these versatile bikes that people are building at the moment.
