Out in Kent this morning, I saw team Kinoko lead by Jammy heading towards the top of Starhill to descend as we had just ascended.
Also, a couple of blokes (one in Rapha hi-viz gilet) passed us (small group of three) near Knockholt and then stopped at the Cafe in Downe which we didn't have cash monies for. I was sure I recognised both or one of you from 'on here' but couldn't place a name.

Thought I'd cross post from the Peak District thread as this would be a punchy 200km DIY:
Not sure if this has been about for a while, but I've just seen it:
http://velotastic.co.uk/peak-district-challenge/
14 climbs in the Peak District, approx 200km riding and 3500m climbing. The aim is to plan your own route and knock it out in one lengthy day. It looks to have the makings of a cracking day out. I am keen to give it a crack later in the year.

That's the thing, I can't find any OTP with the exact kind of specification I look for, except for the Elephants, the price is higher than an OTP but really cheap for a custom frame that have been tried and tested (£950), even better value with the additional free upgrade to the fillet brazing.
What is the checklist of features that you are looking for?

So I thought 'fuck it, I'm going to steal his hat'. However I misjudged my speed/ hand-grab co-ordination and ended up giving him a 20mph open palmed slap on the head.
It might be entirely possible therefore to retell your story as: someone was crossing the road, I passed them at speed and deliberately slapped them. Awesome. Great story. Makes you sound like a real nice guy.

Decathlon, superstore of excellence, stocks Ritter Sport at a reasonable price. Mmmmmmm.
I had to call into decathlon the other day to pick up an emergency inner tube after getting two punctures about 100 yds apart in Bermondsey. (csb).
They don't just have Ritter Sport, they have mini selection packs for £1.49 sat by the till tempting you into an impulse purchase. Mmmmmmmmm

Kyle of Lochalsh to Ullapool is great riding and very beautiful.
North of Kyle is also really nice. There is a great account somewhere of a guy doing a hardcore DIY audax round there. The Applecross Peninsular, esp. the road through the middle looks awesome. The road here looks to wind up through a lunar landscape: http://goo.gl/maps/VFpjg

Had a look at those and would love to try them (or go crazy and get the BG Rock'n'Roll tyres) but the shipping is a bit much. Would rather run something cheaper for a year and then pick some up when I'm out there in 12 months time.
I brought my Jack Browns from Kinoko. Free shipping if you ride round there!

Ctuk offer introductory, basic and intermediate maintenance courses.
http://www.cycletraining.co.uk/index.php?pg=143
Many local boroughs heavily subsidise the maintenance if you also have a cycle training session (which is also heavily subsidised).
Big dredge. I attended the CTUK basic course today and it was excellent. As a Lewisham resident, the cost was £10! I was not technically inept, but really appreciated some systematic instruction. I'll be booking myself onto the intermediate course this week.

Please could I have a recommendation for a 'true 28' tyre to mount on an Open Pro for general road duties. I have schwalbe ultremo zlx's which ride lovely, but they have fattened up to nearly 30mm!
