Thanks for the replies, I managed to get some h plus son deep V formations from BLB - They seem extremely solid and strong. And they look like the dogs bollocks. =)
I think i'll just go with the formulas for this one. Would like to blow some cash on some phils but the rest of the build is costing a bit so will have to compromise on hubs a tad.

Long time lurker, first time poster, I need some advice from the collective wisdom!
Speaking about hubs, I'm building some wheels on a budget, does anyone know of large flange black 36h hubs that are reasonably priced that have no cut outs in the flanges? Was hoping to get something in the price range and quality of miches primatos - but in black.
After reading the forums about condor brand hubs I did go into condor cycles and they had a perfect set, £55ish for front and rear, they looked mean and great, exactly what I wanted, all boxes ticked... but 32h only! Gutted.
Wasn't hoping to spend £85+ on something like dia compes (http://www.businesscycles.com/thub-diacompe.htm) to get the look...
Might just bite the bullet and get a set of those £45 black formulas from kiwicycles. Would really like no cutouts in the flanges but not willing to shell £85+ on a hub set for the privilege...
Hmm, What does everyone think of IRO hubs?

thebrick: The answer is, of course, yes. ;)
jonny: I hear ya. But I need, at least, a rear wheel in the mean time. Any idea on how much would the cheapest of the cheap rear fixed (doesn't have to be a flip flop at this stage) and where do you think I could I get one? brick lane bikes said a normal flip flop built wheel with standard rim = £90. bit much.
peterd: That looks like a good option - I'm constantly checking ebay ;) any idea where I could buy some parts cheap off the shelf? something like evans or cycle surgery?

I'm building my fixed wheel project and I want some deep v's as they look badass.
I rang brick lane bikes and they reckon 100-110 for a rear wheel with a flip flop hub fully built. Is there anyone out there who can provide them cheaper? I have relatives coming from aus in a few weeks and they could bring a set over, but don't want to wait til then ;)
Cheers!
Well, I've stripped the bianchi pista and am very happy with the result. I used the Mangers stuff, it was in my local Leylands paint shop, that stuff is strong. While the decal came off easy, I was surprised at how much I had to scrub at the sticker "residue" though. Thought that stripper would have eaten through it in one hit. Maybe i'm just being a wimp. Probably.
The Finale:
Love it. Looks like a fucking weapon. =) Looking forward to getting something other than the stock wheels on it.
