Right so I know the deal with break reach issues when switching from 27” to 700 but I’m having trouble deciding what size of new wheels I should get for my beloved BSA. At the moment I’ve got a knackered set of steel 27” wheels with a busted spoke, and want to get some nice trick wheels, so should I shell out and build a nice set of 27” wheels that I won’t be able to use on a different (perhaps track) frame should I get one? Or should I switch to 700’s that I can use on a different frame but look kinda funny on my current bike.
Is it just me or do 27” wheels look better being just that tiny bit bigger?
Is there any other advantage to sticking with 27” wheels?
how about 27" in the front 700 in th back?
Should I just stop whingeing and go to 700?Cheers for any knowledge you bestow upon me.
Cool, thanks for the feedback,
I just put on a 700 wheel on front of the bike and the break reaches as is and it doesn’t look that bad (the 27” does look better), funny enough I put the 27” on the front of the other bike and it fit and looked mad.
I’m still no closer to making a decision but I recon obsolete equipment is way cool, so in staying with the trend of riding an archaic fixed gear I might as well get some expensive obsolete wheels to go with it.
