80% of their sales come from exports. So currency movements can have a huge impact.
It isn't about London or the UK, it is about how the bike is positioned/perceived abroad.
Page 9 of the financial statements says:
The group are naturally hedged....and following the year end has implemented a more active hedging strategy
I suspect the use of the word
naturally
reveals more than it should; they might have sat on their hedging approach and been hit.

The £32k threshold seems to be a factor. Press reports say their 'own rising costs' but your link might be a factor in that they are servicing a small (or large!) number of non-profitable customers.
The reason can be anything really, what you do and how it impacts you is probably a better use of time.

Impending baby arrival means losing a precious bike storage room
Congratulations on this.
You may also be losing precious bike riding time so go with what you will enjoy every time you get the chance to get out. An off the peg Crux or other bike is likely to come with 35mm or similar tyres which appears to suit your use case better than wider standard that might come with your suggested item.
If you err for more racy road stuff, you might also err to 2x. I think all the Crux (I don't even care what the plural might be) come as 1x. So there, there is 1 reason not to purchase the same.
Ride both, you will know within about 30 seconds?

Jackal (Sky)
Worth a watch, very well produced, definite shades of Bond play.
I think the first 5 eps are better than the last 5 though.Lonesome Dove (appears all eps are on youtube) was referenced above for the Western fan. I have read the book and remember watching it a long time ago; Robert Duvall at his best.

Balfes in London as well as independent shops listed here
https://www.cycle2work.info/bg_C2WStoreMap*NB the map is out of date but the simpler way to ask your preferred retailer whether they take it. Some charge a surcharge, some don't.

The limit, is well er, limiting.
If he knows he is going to get a bike in the next few weeks, then of course he should, and look for a bike and accessories as close to the limit as possible. It may take his payroll a few weeks to catch up.
If he is umming and ahhing, it seems odd to have an arbitrary date - has the scheme only appeared as a one month trial or do his payroll team need to understand all amounts by the 20th Dec? In other words is there no scheme next year (2025)?

If you are going for weight nonsense, then yes, but then you could go to carbon wheels territory
(fine if you live in Singapore and want to show off, not fine if you are in Blighty, and want to use it a lot or brake...ask Hoke...)
2 or 3 speed, external, will be the optimum for carrying and hopefully you can select the 3 sprockets that give you enough range for general use. The Sturmey Hub is bullet-proof, but boy is it heavy and I find I only use 2 of the 3 gears anyway.

At last, the long-awaited return of the world’s finest anti-friction cream for cyclists. With natural ingredients inspired by flora native to Mont Ventoux, it’s the perfect gift for any conoisseur of the road.

I don't care if Millar recruits her brother or anything else, her reign as CEO is already a success.**but they did mis-spell connoisseur, (double N)

Clarke's eulogy is worth a read. -
Also who quotes 'operating' position rather than the bottom line of the P&L.
The move from £8.6m to (£1m) might be more accurate?
