hippy
andyp He made other equally wanky claims. A self publicist and attention seeker. And a tub of lard to boot!
"He made headlines when he beat Olympic champion Chris Boardman's time-trial record in August 1999."
Yeah, he and other tubs of lard will probably kick your arse on a bike too. It's not all about Pantani builds.
Except there is no 5 mile time trial record to beat. He also claimed he'd been French National Pursuit champion amongst many other claims that he couldn't back up with real evidence. And I agree it's not all about Pantani builds but for someone who claimed to be a world class cyclist he wasn't in the shape you'd expect.

The cool one in Gent is called Plum and is on a street called Nederkouter (if memory serves). It's an aladdin's cave of a bike shop and you have to rummage to find the good stuff. It's very good for rims especially.
Between Gent and Brussels us a town called Aalst and there is a very good bike shop there called Van Eyck I think. It's huge, the size of a mid-sized supermarket and is very good for clothing.
I lived in Brussels for a few months 10 years ago and never found a decent bike shop but I can't say I looked that hard.

ChrisNW
Looks smart, hows it ride?
Something about those levers looks odd with that frame though. It's lovely to ride but then the frame always was. I do love the silence of it though, my previous fixed bike always seem to have something squeaking or creaking.
I'm not sure on the bars or levers too - think I might get some bullhorns and try them.

You can get them for £7 (or four for £25) over at Prendas
The cap is now £12.50!
Roberto - follow my link, buy some more and then do Second Chance Offers to all the people who bid more than £6.50. You'll be quids in!

You have 30 seconds to put some damned gears on that before I buy a plane ticket and bad things happen. That bike would piss class in it's intended state.
