Also does anyone else get a bit nervous about pidgeons?
Apparently [pub knowledge] pigeons' brain-to-eye processing time is way faster than humans - ie if you showed them a movie it would look like a slide show - so as we approach them we don't appear to be moving that fast so they still have plenty of time to finish their kfc / mcdonalds etc before flying away. Well the doctor told me I'm more likly to have back trouble when I'm older. But she said I'd be OK for now, so long as I take it easy. I have an appointment to see the fracture clinic on Thursday. Guess I'll find out morre then and I can't ride my bike because my wheelies are'nt up to scratch.
Tough luck, mate. The fracture clinic at st george's is like the 7th circle of Hell. Take a good long book!
During one of my visits, I had the second appointment of the day @9.10am & got there early so had already had my x-ray by 9am. Was finally seen @11.20am. 2+hrs delay in the space of 10 minutes. What a fucking shambles (and full of sick people too).

Postie vans - oh yes. Especially coming out of the Paddington sorting office.
Peds - particularly texting while stepping into the road.
Other cyclists - well really just the fucktard on brompton who caused my broken shoulder.
and the worst drivers are French Canadians. That is not a generalisation, it is a scientifically proven 100% FACT.

Following a bloke home for a bit tonight (black langster, yellow bartape on bullhorns) and his rear wheel was a bit out of true. Nothing major.
When we slowed to let a bus out I saw his chain was really slack, so I was about to pull alongside and mention it & the rear wheel, but then I suddenly thought to myself that I was going to come across like a right twat. So I didn't say anything & went on my way.
So...can you give a bit of friendly advice like that or not? It could potentially have been dangerous, but most likely he had just not been bothered to do it.

I know everyone says you shouldn't filter up the inside, but on roads where the traffic stops (for lights/whatever) then goes back up to 30 it's less safe to keep weaving out to the outside then get stuck there jousting with motorbikes, than just to stay on the inside and watch the fuck out for morons.
I see what the wise man up there is saying. You should *really *be going slow enough to stop even if the assclown pulls out right in front of you.Speedy recovery Lucky7.

Gave up 15-16months ago after 20+ years of smoking. Fitter & in better shape now than ever. Giving up is fucking hard! I just stopped. You have to really want to stop - I really enjoyed smoking, so it needed a switch in my way of thinking for me to stop. Not wanting to die in front of my kids finally sorted it for me.
My personal method of rewarding myself with class a's for staying off the fags is probably not to be recommended to everyone. -
robin mathers stuff is lovely, not taking orders for 2 years due to backlog tho.

and my dad put me on to Ron Cooper whos got some lovely traditional styles and lugworkBalls. Was just working up to ordering a Robin Mather some time later this year. Will have to start the planning process again.

As Markyboy says, great shop, nice folk, shit location.
I have a touche. Really love it. I went for the courier bars (as below) option as I didn't want drops. (for same price). Got a nice carbon stem for free too. Came with 48:18 which is perfect for across London, so I'm sure OK for Manc too. Ran it SS for a few months & fixed for the last 6 or so. Stock chain is made of cheese though, go for the upgrade there & I got a crap saddle which they swapped for me after a couple of weeks. Almost paid for now - cracking value for £275!
