Bright Times peeps! It's been a while - a long time. We miss you over at Canopy Beer Co. Also we realised it's our birthday on Saturday (26 Nov!) and so we're rustling up a bit of a party.
We already made victoria sponge cake beer (yes really...) but we are a bit light on music makers and shakers. Does anyone fancy playing some records? Thanks in beer of course. Would you email me estelle@canopybeer.com if you're up for it?
Thank you and lots of love, hope to see some you sooner rather than later.

This, or a version of this, is happening at Canopy Beer Co on Sat 13 Feb 5pm-1am. Address details: canopybeer.com
@snowy_again is coordinating music side. (I think/hope!)Hope to raise a glass with some of you there.

@Greasy_Slag that's just brilliant. I hated making Wayne angry because he sure did get grumpy!
In other news, we're having a bit of a bash at the brewery in Wayne's honour. It would be nice to see some old faces there and catch up, and raise a glass to Wayne.
Saturday 13 February (tap room is open from 12pm, but let's say from 5/6pm)
Canopy Beer Co
Arch 1127 Bath Factory Estate
41 Norwood Road

love to all. x

As others have said, I'm not too good with the public sharing of the feelings. I'm so sad about Wayne. It seems almost cliched to say what a great bloke the dead are. But i'm sure I'm not the only one to have posted something here and then got a PM or a phonecall 5 minutes later from him, offering a solution. "Let me have a little think" was his catchphrase to me. "Hello lovely Stelle!"
He has helped me time upon time upon time. He'd always call to find how a race had gone. He used to call to try to persuade me to join the Grupetto. We had so many unfinished conversations about Canopy and so many ideas of new fun stuff we would do.
It struck me that although I may not have posted or visited here for maybe years, there are people that I consider friends who are here. There have been many nights at Wests, Souths, that crazy day in Hyde park with the pedalos (in the cold harsh light of 2016 I'm not sure why a bunch of cyclists were so hell bent on wreaking havoc in a boating pond!!)...all the polo.
Aroogah, Markyboy, mashton, Brendan, Aidan, Oliver, Desi, Ved, Shinscar, Hael, Multigrooves, hippy, skully, lebowski, BRM, hippy, Velocio, Pip, digger, Scott...all of you. We ranged from "knew each other" to "friends" and we all knew Wayne. I want to send each of you my love, I'm thinking of you all, of the old times, the good times, the bright times.
Wayne, with a sparkle in his eye and his fingers in all the pies.

its...meh. Imagine being a dog lover and going to watch the greyhounds, and expecting all the other people there to also love dogs. And then finding out they dont care, and are just there to gamble.
Yeah, but imagine if you loved watching racing, and then went and saw some proper racing. Then you'd enjoy it.
We went in January. It was a bit random and a bit difficult to find out info (ask your hotel reception to find out for you, they'll humour your odd foreign ways) but it was pretty interesting too. And it cost about 5p to get in. We would have put some bets on but we didn't have a clue how to.
The racing, and the riders, were great to watch. It is like the greyhounds though, with less beer, so be warned if you're anything less than a total enthusiast!

I think that the forum's own Wiesia deserves a mention for the VeloJam women's track day. I'm really impressed at what she's organised (along with her team). Walking the walk as well as talking the talk. It's not just about riding the bike. FIngers crossed that the weather holds and we'll have a great afternoon of women's racing.

Hi all,
Austerity measures mean that I need to sell my Archies Grobags - sadly, because they mean a lot to me, but I no longer use them enough to justify keeping. I have no idea what their 'name' is so please see description and feel free to ask me any questions. PLEASE no dibs, it's ridiculous - PM me if you want them and you're serious; collection SE London or I will post if you really want.
Scott was really good to me with these bags (and I'm sad to say I haven't seen him in an age) so 10% of profits will go back to him.
Archies Grobag: Bag 1 (probably a Bill or similar??)
£100
Scott made me this to replace my stolen Bagaboo workhorse, and it's a similar size to that bag, to give you some idea of size. (On a side note, if you see anyone riding about with a Bagaboo embellished with a flamingo, a lobster and a luggage tag then I still want it back)It's khaki green and bright pink exterior with bright pink interior.
Rough dimensions are:
Width (along top, widest part) 54cm
Height 34cm
Depth 15cmIt is RIGHT shouldered and comes with an optional, detachable X-strap (like the Pac bags). As well as the 2 pockets on the inner front, there is a detachable zippered pouch and a pocket on the front flap. In fact there are pockets everywhere, down the sides, straps inside and on both sides, and loads of handy straps to keep eg poster tubes / polo mallets in place.
It has compression straps on the bottom & sides so you can adjust the volume to suit your load, so you're not carrying around a giant bag with nothing in it. It's got removable padding for your back (why would you remove it? I have no idea, but at least you have the option) and all of the straps are adjustable and come with clever little things to keep them strapped up so they're not flapping about.
In short, it's a bloody amazing bag, and whilst I don't plan on turning this into a wanton homage to Scott he really has paid attention to every last detail and it is such a well made bag. It is used, though not massively heavily, and is as such a little bit grubby in places, but there is nothing major to point out. Good size for actually being a messenger or just if you like to carry your stuff about with you. Obviously it's totally waterproof too, with the cordura fabric and tarp interior.
Oh, and you can easily chuck a crate of beer in there alongside your other stuff. Need I say more? I challenge you to fill this bag.

Archies Grobag: Bag 2
£50
I think this was a prototype and I'm not sure that it ever became a production model. It's a compact, minimal and slimline model compared to the other, probably ideal for popping to work with your laptop and a few other bits - having said that, I used to fit my computer, tools and change of clothes in, and then stop at the supermarket on my home and fit in dinner and a bottle of wine on top, so it's pretty versatile.Dimensions:
Approx 40cm (W) x 30 (H) with expanding pocket giving a depth of up to 8cmIt's camo fabric and the long front flap means that it can easily adapt to whatever you put in there. The main pocket is quite slim and would fit a laptop or folder in, and the large front pocket fits anything funny shaped or bulky.
Again, it's RIGHT shouldered and the straps aren't padded (though the back is), to keep it lightweight. It's got an adjustable cross-strap and a light loop on the front. Goes without saying that it's waterproof, though the interior is nylon rather than tarp.
