Morning all,
I had a nightmare day on Saturday. Cycling in from West to play footie at vicky park, I catch a flat at Liverpool street. I changed the inner tube, continued and three minutes later the same thing has happened. Checked the rim and found that at the point where the two "ends" of the rim meet, one side is indented by a mil or two, leaving an edge to catch the tyre and puncture I think.
I run Velocity on rims, fyi.
Does anyone know if this can be fixed with some elbow grease and tlc, or if the structure of the wheel is now compromised. I will try to get a photo of the damage if that helps. Just want to know if i can resue it, or whether its time to build a new wheel. I was thinking of geting some plyers and trying to straighten it out???????
Thanks all...

The guy who posted this unwanted NJS equipment (and started the current torrent!) did come on the Halloween ride. He had the yellow Keirin dripping with gold Nitto parts, and a blue (Ithink) frame protector (I'm sure there are photo's on here somewhere from D0CA). I think he had bought much of the stuff from Japan himself, and perhaps, following from the Hallow'een ride brough some extra stuff back from his next trip in the thought that some of us might be interested.
Just because some of us don't post all the time, doesn't mean we are not here. I am on here pretty much all day, but only post when I have something valid to add. Anyway, I understand that there is a community to protect, but many of you guys will have met PeterSmoleck on the ride and, I assume, just don't remember him.

Going back to the earleir point - I think top gear did something similar a few years ago already t..... Clarkson and road race cyclist doing the london marathon route during rush hour as I remember. I think the cyclist dic-ked all over the car. It wasn't a track bike, I don't think, but may be wrong. I can't find the clip, but I'm sure its out there.

No, this was the reason my journey was memorable. No red light jumping necessary. Lights were just correct at the right time! Of course I am ALWAYS on good behaviour, however, on my way home last night I did get pulled over by rozzers for being a little over eager whilst crossing @ the strand / blackfriars junction. They were very nice though, told me they just wanted me to be safe....

This morning..... ( I am sorry for all those that are having moody thursdays!) ... I think I had the perfect ride to work. Apart from the weather, I rode from Bethnal Green to Pall Mall without stopping once for lights, traffic, militant cabbies or lunatic peds. I'm not sure how regular this is, as I have only been in the new office for three months, but a great feeling none the less!
Just thought I would share the love......

hippy Stupid fscking peds walk out in front of me all the time.. through traffic and stuff.. what can you do?
A car drove into me last night on the way to turbo.. he squished me into another car. I yelled at the fscking idiot.
The car I was leaning on took off so I had to move too. Fun and games. Made for an interesting turbo session/anger management class. Its not just peds though. Everybody is asleep. And everybody blames the other person when something fks up.
Cycling down from Kensington Gardens on friday, I pull up on the Cromwell Road at the Lights, stop and wait (Feeling well behaved , obviously) Then a tourist coach pulls up and pulls up into the back of me. No damage, no hurt, I just topple over as I was balanced on the other foot, look up & gawp in astonishment. The driver then opens the door and instructs me that I am a cnut and shouldn't be on the road!...........I was FKING stationary! At a red light... C0CK! Pardon me, had to release the inner fury......... -

Thanks guys - I'll get my tool kit out and try the rim on a new tyre.
