- Be unpredictable so as to keep other road users and pedestrians on their toes
- Signalling should be done sparingly.
- When signalling, do so after moving off / making a turn.
- To pick up or drop off, on no account use indicators. You may use hazard lights, but only after pulling over.
- If a U turn is desired, drift slowly to the left and then execute the turn quickly, making sure that if you are signalling it is opposite to the direction of the turn.
- When passing other vehicles and especially cyclists, do not wear out the steering mechanism by moving over to give too much room. An inch or two is all that is necessary.
- Taxis are permitted to stop in the green box at traffic lights.
- At Give Way junctions and if you are making a right turn, remember that you do not have to give way. Also remember Rule 2.
- Mirrors are only attached to your vehicle because the factory put them there. A manoeuvre is usually sufficient to warn others.
- And remember the golden rule: Manoeuvre, signal, mirror.
- Be unpredictable so as to keep other road users and pedestrians on their toes

Yeah, that's an arse of a ride, well bumpy, as is the bit if you follow it up(from Tulse Hill - Christchurch/top of Brixton Hill) round the one way bit on the South Circular
well they've re-done half the norwood road so it's (only!) half as bad. Waterloo road (that bit with the bus stops outside the station) is a sort of obstacle course what with the roadworks as well

PeterD Just to jump on this thread for a slightly unrelated query...I have RPMs...they work fine so far, though i am thinking of changing the ring for summit smaller.
Currently running a 48/16 and with the wind on the up me knees are feeling it a tad. How do you calculate the BCD of the ring accurately to know that it'll fit. Im thinking of some GEBHARDT rings. -
Norwood Road (on the way to Herne Hill, 2nd worst surface ever!)
yeah agree with that one. and brockwell park isn't much of a shortcut with kids and dogs trying to get run over. the junction at the oval isn't very clever. i like any road where u can go past a long line of cars with one person in each. and playing dodge-the-pedestrian is kinda fun in the west end side streets.
