Black Langster <> spotted this mornonmg heading north from Finchley, 3/4 lenth denim shorts with turn ups, key chain, pony tail, tatoos, bullhorn bars, etc.
OK that drew my eye, then I see the guy is coasting... and he only has a front brake. Surely this is a recipe for going arse over tip if you need to brake suddenly.
Does anyone here ride that way? Seems mental to me!

Sweet deal but would be a sour feeling to own someone else's pride and joy. I can't do it.
This is the guy who we met, thinking it was m friends frame.
Bike is stock except SPDs, tall black risers, white grips (lock-ons?) and red barend plugs.
BlatantlyQuite probably nicked from someone with good taste - it looked nice! -

A 2008 Genesis Flyer for £250! Surely too good to be true. I called the guy and asked why he was selling it and he said at 100mph thebikeismine. Mmm. I asked again. He said it was too small for him, as he's 5ft10in. Mmm. I'd llove this bike, esp at that price but I'm not so sure that thebikeishis.
What is the legal position of you buy a stolen bike? Do you stand to lose the money and the bike?

As a guide to "good average" times for an olympic distance race - around 25mins for the swim 1500m, 01:05 for the bike - 40k and 45min for the run - 10km
Zoinks! I can just about make a sub 50min 10k - that's without all the cycling and swimming before!
I did my first tri last year, a sprint (300m/20k/5k) and did 8:49, 48:34, 26:46 for an overall time of 1:23:56 - coming 153 out of 209. I guess I am old (44), riding a hybrid and I've never been fast (or first) at anything. In the main, I race to beat my own best times. Which is what I'll do in a couple of weeks when I do this race again. That's plenty of motivation for moi.
Next year I'd like to do an Olympic distance, but I can only think about a good time for me.

Tried the Steamroller today - Evans set it up with brakes front and back by the way, which is not how they describe or picture it on their site. Gears 48:19 fixed. Mentioned Winstanleys' cheaper price and they were happy to match it. So you can get one for £539.99 if you want.
The test ride itself was interesting for me. My first fixed ride. Not too odd, but I cycled well within myself and away from traffic. The bike was smooth like butter. With two brakes fitted, stopping was not disimilar from my geared bike. I tried slowing down with legs (not skid stops) and that didn't seem too hard but glad to have two brakes.
It seemed fine. I have no point of reference in terms of fixed gear cycles, so don't no how fine it is. Maybe should try out some other brands/custom bikes...

I've got a 53 which you can try out too.
Thanks for the offer!
I've been looking for the £ to buy a fixed gear bike for some time - I can't/won't - so I'm selling my Genesis hybrid. N
ow my brother-in-law (a seasoned cyclist) has whipsered doubts in my ear * it's too dangerous in traffic * you live in Barnet * there are hills * you can't freewheel *
I've been cycling 20 years - will I really find it dangerous - you're all alive still aren't you?
HELP THERE ARE VOICES IN MY HEAD!

Nah. I've seen this guy before a few months back. He's no noob. It's a black Langster, bet he's had it since new, which would be 2006/7, I think.
