Hoping to get the kids into it by doing Bedgbury etc and I try and get out to the downs but I've barely ridden the last couple of years. Just sold the Krampus as it was just too cumbersome - even if it was fun - and sold the road bike I never used, as well as the kids ones that were too small.
Got the 'dale for my older daughter now need one for myself and my youngest. Was looking at a chisel or an Epic HT (new ones are about 50% off) but now thinking maybe an epic evo (2021>) if I can get something cheap enough. Was really into the idea of a used Santa Crux Tallboy but now not so sure. Got proper optional paralysis...
Also got the small issue of rehabbing the leg I broke skiing in Feb so will be V mild trails for the foreseeable.

Thanks for that. I think the seat height on the stationary bike is also deceptive as 29s with 2.4 tires means the BB is much higher so the seat relatively needs to be higher. It all just looks massive and far from nimble but I guess if it works, it works.
I'm just over 6' 2" so maybe an XL will be fine.
Also dithering between getting a full sus or a lightweight HT. I've never had a FS and I think I just want one to try out but I'm a bit concerned the extra weight and faff will annoy me after the first couple of rides. They also seem super heavy. Do I need to re-calibrate on that too? If i can find something cheap with 100mm or rear travel I assume it'll be good for all day trail riding?

Anyone bought a MTB recently? I just got my daughter a cannondale so we could do some trails - if it ever stops raining. She's right in the middle of the range for a medium. So I bought a 2022 medium on ebay for cheap. But it's huge, like the size I'd expect to ride and I'm 6'2". It's about the same size as my motorbike. The wheelbase is huge, the reach is pretty long and it just generally seems huge to me, who's used to riding older MTBs. I just sold an XL Krampus and that was big, but not that much bigger than this medium sized one.
Is this just modern sizing? it's on 29s so that makes it look bigger as well. But my Ms had an older cannondale 29er and it was no where near as big.
I was looking for an XL epic or chisel but now I'm thinking they'd be crazy big - even though that's the size i'd need on the sizing chart. Do I just need to re-calibrate my concept of correct sizing since they raked out the forks and stretched the top tubes?
Yea, I did measure it and check it was a M on the geo chart.

Hey, I stuck it on ebay as I had no idea what it was worth. There's a bid on it already so I'm not gonna pull it. it's here if you want to have a look. I stuck them both on for a week as they had the 80% fee reduction. Will see how it goes. Sorry, was just a bit late when you posted.

Hey, gonna have a reshuffle and move these 2 on and get my daughter an MTB and maybe some full sus MTB for me - mainly as I've never had one before.
Anyways, Thinking of selling my Surly Krampus and a Litespeed T5 disc. Both are XL and both are in pretty good nick, the Litespeed is barely broken in. Turns out road cycling really isn't my bag. Even on my dream bike...
Ebay has reduced fees this weekend so may brave the inane questions and list it.
Any idea what they'd be worth?

Seems like the start of mudguard season so sticking these up to see if anyone wants em. I got them for a bike that i no longer have and they were never fitted so they're new. I think they came on a cardboard shop hanger thing which I don't have but everything else is as delivered. They're black. Not sure what else I can add? Google for better pictures. I thought they were the best looking mudguards I could find , they've a square-ish profile and the finish is stealthy.
They seem to sell for 50 quid mostly but some places do them for 45 so anyone interested at 30?
Collection from Dulwich or Peckham.
Any Qs just ask.

Hey,
OT but does anyone have a turntable they'd like to move on? My kid wants one but I refuse to buy some crap landfill deck so am looking for a cheap used Rega or Pro-ject. Can be a bit battered or need some work, open to any offers.
Any one got anything? Can collect, ideally south, but I get about town so let me know.

Looking for a black crankset to finish of a build for the GFs commuter. Something like a cheap Shimano one in black. Ideally I'm looking for a 42t but would take one without a ring or a double that I can remove a ring from even if it's larger or smaller than a 42. Will be run as a single but doesn't need to be a single specific set-up.
Nothing too tatty, I can't quite bring myself to build a proper beater. Maybe something like a Sora or a 105 - if they even do a square taper.
I'm in SE24 but can collect around town or will pay for post.
Anyone got anything?

Owing to some scrote stealing my GFs bike in brixton (middle of the day, bolt-cutters by the look of it - heads up) I now need to source another. It was a Cannondale 29er. She loved it as it was light and stable so looking to replace with something similar. Anyone got anything? Happy to do a bit of fettling to something that needs work. Needs to be lightish so probably an ali frame.
Thanks y'all.

My Gshock has BT and i'd agree it's not that useful - with the exception of resetting the time when you land somewhere remotely from your phone and impressing the kids. IMO the radiowave feature I have on another G is a much better feature. The BT seems to be a kind of 'lock into the G ecosystem' move rather than something better. That said, a solar G is realistically the only watch you really need.

Just in case anyone trawls this up. I took it to Hennesey in Deptford in the end.
Other folks I called wanted 40 quid collection and 40 delivery (wouldn't let me drop it off even though they were 15 mins away) then 150 for the first hour diagnosis. Then whatever else on top.
Hennessey let me drop it of and it was 60 for diagnosis. Turned out the BIOS was totally screwed and he couldn't even see the drives (which explains why I couldn't see the USB to try and boot it from that). He fixed up all the BIOS and reinstalled windows minus all the dell bloatwear and it was another 180 quid. I've no idea if that's reasonable but it's def cheaper than the other place would have been and he was a really nice bloke. So, even though i have no idea if he screwed me i was a good experience... I'd recommend him if someone is looking for a fix. Much cheaper than a new laptop but a lot more than i was hoping to spend, I guess.
There was a really cheap stumpjumper evo comp alloy on Gumtree but it was an S6 size and looked like a motorbike so I passed. Looked like waaay too much bike.
