Whoa! I was just reporting an opinion that had been voiced this side of then pond. Don't know what the fashions are in London nowadays, but over here it's NJS frames with crazy anodized groups all the way, hence the cusses on it. I think the reasoning seemed to be 'why fit out an entry-level frame with high-end parts'.
As I said, other than my own personal issues with gold pretty much anything, I think it looks smooth. Hell, I ride a Fuji Track myself.
Although I have a friend with the Paul Cranks that had a bit of an issue - cranks and chainring steel, supplied crank bolts alu. T-h-r-e-e-a-a-d.
They replaced 'em, but still...

Long time listener, first time caller...
I've been vaguely lurking on here for the last few months. Norwich-Cambridge-London-San Francisco.
I miss London, so it's nice to check back in sometimes, and this is one of the ways I do it.
My face:
My bike:
And the view out my window:
The fixed gear scene here is incredible - there are literally hundreds of people riding. Which seems odd, given the nasty hills, but there you go. Lots of nice folks, lots of sick bikes (although a l;ot of people seem to be very NJS-obsessed), and fantastic weather most of the time.
If anyone ever comes over to visit, give me shout - it'd be nice to ride with someone that doesn't say stupid words like 'burglarize'.
Fair point, well made. There is definitely a tendency towards the 'Pedal Mafia' look over here but, eh - Americans. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to powdercoat my Aerospoke glittery gold and chop another 3cm off each side of my pink risers...
