@PhilDAS and @Daithetooth cheers, yes, was a great time to be there. I was so lucky to work and ride with some brilliant people, at a really exciting time for the business and the sport. Got to design the original Brevet kit off the back of riding stuff like F500 (or F1000). The first jersey and gilet was nearly dropped many times (for a few reasons), and its one of the only products I really fought for because I knew it was solid.
I bought myself a ticket to head out and ride with the US Continental Project in 2009, which had some pretty amazing videos and photography come out of it, and the UK Continental just kept up the momentum. They're kind of buried now, but if you look at Oldest on YouTube, there's a bunch of nice stuff on there - this one stands out
in my mind, having just arrived, and I gave a rundown a few months back.
I helped with a lot of the product archive info for the recent 20th anniversary book, been interesting revisiting the past, realising what a magic time it was. -

Yes, the greyness was never ending today - edit; @Daithetooth bet that was cold, but sure looks beautiful . Alarming number of drivers with no lights on. Still, a fairly pleasant 60k out Cudham/Clarks/Layhams Lane. Was planning to take it easy in Regents Park, but persuaded by a mate otherwise, and am grateful for :) He took a couple of snaps, and was amused by my high-tech deck;

And you’re likely all sick of the origin story, but it’s probably the biggest thing I did when I worked at Rapha. Completely unintentional, and I had no idea it would go global, and be where it is today.
Anyway here’s the bit from Rapha’s The Extra Mile, where somehow I’m pulling the same face. It’s an excellent book btw, a lot of info and stories in there. -
@Squaredisk From previous experience, and knowing how my head works, figured I’d get ontop of things early. Chasing on doesn’t bear thinking about 😬 Plus mild weather in the SE definitely motivated me to put the early shifts in!

@kjlem (comedic) selfie from Ide Hill;

Chalked up 251 so far.
Yesterday was pleasantly savage, South London > Oxted > Edenbridge> Hever > Bough Beech > Ide Hill > Sevenoaks > Star Hill > Biggen Hill > Crystal Palace > home. Think I’m on ~79 GI, legs shredded this morning.
Headed to Richmond Park for some casual laps this morning; aside from no riders saying good morning when passing, thought it was ok - some vehicle gates were closed, so perhaps concentrated more vehicles into some stretches? Was nice to see so many people out on a huge variety of bikes, using the park - big group of Brompton’s on a Boxing Day outing - and only one other fixed, who overtook me at quite a lick. Hello if on here!

Think I’m in(!). First time in a while, been a few years since a driver broke my ribcage. Only recognising the damage that was done now that I’m fit again, and thankful for getting my health back. Attempting fixed, never done it before that way, see how I get on.
Very best to all that go for it, and cheers to those supporting riders. -
@youramericanlover if you look for the recycling logo (triangle formed of arrows) there will be a number or lettering in the middle - the mark on a bottle body I just looked at has 'PE' = polyethelene. I think the lids are nylon, also recyclable, but take the silicon bit grip thing off (if there is one)
@returnofthestaff great to hear ...and yes; we have spent a lot of time this year redeveloping this transfer into two versions, largely because of this, apologies! The new generation of C0 DWR's appear to be silicone based, which doesn't adhere to the transfer adhesive. Feel free to send back and I can reapply, or drop into any of our future repair workshops.
@ghostface I've checked and not until February, but we have some on hand in the studio :) If you contact info@AlbionCycling.com and we can arrange a swap

@RonnieOatmilk Sorry for delay, yes, there is now more adjustment in the waist, and with cinches on both sides. Aiming to get maximum versatility to wear over a light contour layer like underwear or bibs, through to insulated trousers, and as over-trousers.
@salevador just black for this winter - I really loved that olive, gave my pair to one of supported riders when we ran out of stock. Sad to see them go!
@jono84 yes, out atm - I can see Condor have some sizes left in pine or limestone if that's helpful?
And yes, thanks for saying YAL, trying to approach things responsibly/sustainably. Makes a nice difference :) -
Thanks for the advice/insight all,
Picked the speakers up this evening - or more correctly, the seller kindly drove them over to mine, after seeing it wasn’t that practical to get onto a Big Dummy. V thankful - and did basic setup straight away.
Huge step up from my previous speakers, so I’m not sure how subjective this review is, but here we go; Very impressed, sound is super clear, crisp and full. Have a (crappy) sub-bass, but prob don’t need it anymore, these just fill the room on every level, even without tinkering. Previous issue was vocals weren’t that sharp on music or tv, but these are great. Styling is slightly incongruous with 1970’s flat (and Danish teak speakers they’re replacing), but more than happy to overlook because of the sound :) -

A pair of these have come up on my local forum for £200 - look good condition, but aware they’re potentially ~10 years old;
https://www.qacoustics.co.uk/products/q-acoustics-3050-floorstanding-speakers
Would be for my living room, which is essentially a concrete box, with a Cambridge AXR100 amp. Reviews from the time are all to glowing, and seem to go for £300 on eBay. Having a sense check on here; Anyone got experience of them, worth it? -

Great product^ those, still wear one running when it's cold.
I just checked through our trims box, and afraid I don't have any of those in-seam adjusters. I do have some small 'pigs nose shockcord adjusters' or 'pigs nose cord stoppers' , that could work just a little more bulk, or a single 'captive shockcord adjuster' would work (for single cord adjustment, and item attaches to hem with tape). ...nothing on the schedule just yet, but think you're SE London? Will be no worries to sort over xmas break.
Alternatively, if you're passing through central, Maccullock and Wallis have some (??) options;

@jmg412 @Gregory thanks for getting involved and keeping kit going for longer. Often a simple fix means it's good for another good few miles. ....Wish there was a way to identify LFGSS'ers and say hello!
@pacef8 @gav Zoa Rain Trousers and Rainshell will be launching this Thursday coming. Sorry for delay, but warehouse blanket stopped booking deliveries in, to prioritise Black Friday shipments out(!).
Trousers are a 'MkII' with a new Pertex fabric, featuring a more effective/durable C0 DWR (that we're really impressed by), and a tweak to give more waist adjustment.
Zoa Rainshell is getting a new colour for AW24+, in same top-of-line Pertex Shield Air fabric, and no change to features. ...think I can say now it's the same deep evergreen ('shale green)' as the insulated Zoa Mountain Jacket. Colour appears deeper and richer because of the dull, matt texture of Rainshell face fabric over the insulated face.@exteroceptive we've dialled the '24 insulated Zoa Mountain Jacket to have a broader range of use, by selecting base/mid layer (and outer shell) for the conditions ....which will inevitably be changing over the course of a ride/day, and for the individual depending on level of exertion. Although I try to make decisions based on data/athlete-input, in this case I think leaving the decision up to the individual and preference for versatility in layering, rather than being prescriptive, is key. Optimising the available materials & features to give the most versatile garment (ie close-fitting neckline and hood to reduce loss-of-heat when zipped up) was key here. There's so many additional variables which can affect body temperature - and specifically 'comfort' and perception of cold . ...sorry, bit of a ramble there, but it's a highly personal topic, so would definitely be open to all and any thoughts on this.

@spinnnout nice pouch :) ...I'd would love to do a make-your-own workshop someday...!

Just a reminder for the two repair sessions this coming Friday;
Condor Cycles WC1X 8PP 08.00 - 16.00
Bianca Road Brewery, SE16 3RD 19.00 - 22.00Hopefully the evening event will allow people to attend that can't make it during the day. It will be hosted by Lost Dot, and will be a presentation of the 2025 Transcontinental Route, so should be a great night - if you can register interest here, it helps with anticipation of numbers.

GWR Audax runs the Full Fat Festive 500, in two ‘pints’ (500 each) or the option to ride both as the Double Cream 1000km;
https://www.pedalution.co.uk/gwraudax/audax-calendar-events/
Long been fascinated by these, I know GWR Audax do cracking events and routes, would love to give at least a 500 a shot
