Mercian, lovely bike had mine for a while, the only bike I have. Its a 1978, orange, using the original bars and stem, white tape on lower part of bar, so a lot of metal showing. I converted it to fixed, but kept all the braze-ons, its solid hasnt let me down and prefer it over my first fixed, maybe because i built this one up. Been thinking about a brooks b-17 (honey) as running with a selle san marco (black) at the mo. mavic open pro, miche primato hub, Got a bog standard front brake caliper as needed long reach as it was running 27"s before. Paint is good with good detailing, normal chips for age but i dont want it looking new hence no respray. Needs a good clean now though

Yesterday morning (9.20ish), i witnessed a hit and run on a green Kona (i think) by a large van, on Brixton road. The van hit the bike and drove off without checking to see if the rider was ok. The rider once refocused chased the van down the road, I later followed to see if everything was ok but lost them along the way somewhere. Anyway if you are that rider, I am happy to be a witness for you, I also have the license plate details of the van in question if you want to follow this up as well as a sketch i did that morning when I got to work, outlining the incident. I was positioned maybe 10/15 metres behind you on an orange mercian. Hope you are in good health.

the stock lenses you get with either nikon or canon if you buy it with its standard lens kit arent that wonderful, I still run a nikon d100, outdated now but still holds its own. I prefer Nikon for many reasons but, it can become a mac vs pc debate, both good brands. Camera bodies in most cases come second its the lenses that are extra important as they tend to hold their value. A good lense often exceeds the cost of the body. Get a decent speedlight as well.

we should go a bit easier on the newen's, for me though the looks should be second, judging by what he wants looks will definitely be a close third. Its about riding fixed no more. Enjoy the experience, you cant buy cool. Dont try so hard. shiiiitttt.

Hey think i just spotted you guys at the trinity maybe that was you? I was with a couple of friends as one just had a new baby so i was in four wheels instead of on two, spotted the bikes outside, some nice rides guys and girl

used one on the old langster both sides, was thinking about a surly for the mercian but its a bit bling. it makes tensioning the chaining a hell of lot easier

OK so the mercian is now complete, and took it out today but the rear hub which is part of a used wheel set doesn't move as smoothly as it should easy it easy to service myself and will i need any special tools? thanks in advance

would be using a front brake, so would it better to re-lace the back with a fixed hub?
