I had a look at those hubs at the bike show and kind of pulled them apart on the stand the bearings and shell look like system ex and feel crunchier, I wouldn't pay the premium to have them built into an average pair of rims - buy some cheap hubs, some decent rims and calculate some spoke lengths and get yourself a nice pair of wheels for cheaper, plus you'll get some skills at the same time...

same here as vv nothin but problems for me, battery is fucked so have to keep it charging all the time, though it doesnt charge, and bloody paragraphs! the touchpad is shagged so my cursor ends up wherever on the screen it feels like, and highlights content, opens bookmarks, and makes me type in the middle of my
have had both PC's and Macs for years, and I have to say computers - good idea, general implementation for the average end users without spending shitloads on high end spec - CRAP save your money move to the north of canada and take up snowshoeing, or maybe ice track cycling

if you have a stiff link after rejoining a chain, you generally havent put the pin in the correct distance, either too far in or not enough, check that the connecting pin is sticking out the same distance of either side of the linkplate, if it is, and it's still stiff try flexing the link sideways to loosen it up a bit, and add oil.

Agree to a certain extent with both sides on the luck question - was I unlucky to have had the bike stolen in the first place or stupid for locking it up with a crappy cable in an area notorious for thieving scum? While I was lucky enough to be walking down the street at exactly the right time and place as the thieves, I hardly slept the previous night going over all possible recovery scenarios and tactics. Probability working as it does, you could say I made my own luck by intending to be in the correct vicinity, hammer in hand - Gumtree would have been my second port of call, and I'd like to think I would have got it back from there or spotted someone riding it soon, and got it back any way.
My luck would almost certainly have run out had they broken it down into parts, or other methods of disposal which I shall not mention here in case the idiots are reading this forum, which I'm sure some of them do.

Well it's been a good morning so far - got up early (for a sunday) and got myself down brick lane tooled up with a claw hammer and a bike tool which, when semi folded fits quite nicely in my fist. Halfway down cheshire st, down the alleyway, I spot 3 skinny runts wearing grey pyjamas riding bikes, one of which is unmistakeably my beloved blue Cannondale. Dear reader, I saw crimson, scarlet, magenta, and several other shades of red, and ran straight at him shouting get off my bike you cunt, or words to that effect.
Seeing the fury in my eyes, (and possibly the hammer in my hand), he shat his pants, jumped off and ran up the road with his equally intelligent looking bretheren.
He turned back when about 30 yards away and shouted 'Oi, what if I paid for it?' - I just retorted, 'don't care -it's my fucking bike'
Beautiful weather, gonna build a back wheel for my Dave Russell track bike now after a nice bottle of cava! (is it too early?)
Brussels trip is back on next weekend as well - YAY! -

yeah called them up and it seems unbelievable that there are no ferries which take foot passengers, with or without bikes to either zeebrugge or ostende at all!
The guy on the phone told me to go to France and cycle from there! I could go to Hull and get the ferry with my bike to oostende, I am in a mild state of shock, what should be one of the most bike friendly routes to the continent is not, at all. -

I have a gold/orange 48cm Dave Russell track bike from the 60's with lots of campagnolo, 60's brooks professional saddle, and cork wrapped cinelli track drops, PM me if you want a pic. It's 46/16 freewheel if that matters!
