A Yes vote is a vote for a smaller government, more connected, more agile and more accountable to the the people they govern. I don't think it should be a protest vote, or a vote for nationalism, or even a vote for a more stable economic future. The closest the decision making is to the people being affected by the decision the better. My two pennies.

Does anyone know the rational for putting both direction of bike lanes on one side and not one lane on each side of the carriageway? I heard it was something to do with minimizing the reduction in capacity at junctions, but I don't understand how that works - anyone? @Oliver Schick?

Awesome. Well done @Velocio.

I assume you mean a 'median strip'. They are used to encourage and make informal pedestrian crossings safer.

The owner of the bike shop has sadly passed away. It looks as though his widow will try and take it on. It's quite moving when the family see it as their responsibility to keep a business alive, I hope everything works out. More info here: https://www.facebook.com/CRTRA

That's not the point, some places are well known to be hot-spots such as outside the Rio Cinema or the George in Hackney, other places seem to be less targeted by criminals for whatever reason. It would be good to have a map showing where bikes get stolen a lot so you can decide what bike to take, what lock etc.

Cool, lots of locals here then! I'm not sure what else can be done. Hopefully someone looking for work will pick this up, so spread the word. Its probably quite a good opportunity to get some bike shop management experience too as the owner is likely to be ill for some time and might well want someone to take over.

Hi all,
The owner of my local bike shop, A&S Cycles (http://www.aandscycles.com/) on Chatsworth Road (E5) is really ill and his wife has been struggling to keep the business going. They are quite desperate for help and are looking to employ people to help run the shop 2-4 days a week. They are a small local business that have been really active in wider community and I really want to help them out, unfortunately i'm tied to a full time job.
If anyone is keen give them a call or pop round, and let them know that Euan (me) from the CRTRA (traders and residents association) put you on to them.
Cheers
Got two spare tickets for Entombed A.D., Voivod, and Conan at The Underworld tomorrow for £5 under face value if anyone wants.
