That poster for Hackney Drag seems awfully familiar...

1+ last week, a chav with his mobile glued to his ear was cycling very fast toward me on the pavement of old wimbledon town, when he was just about passing me, i scream into his ear "OI!!!!!!" and watch him wobbling into a piles of rubbish while dropping his phone down the drainhole with two police officier heading over toward him.
karma.
That is the sort of retribution us mere mortals can only dream of.
Truly, you have been blessed with a great gift.

I can't comprehend how peoples can be so passive when someone sets out to injure you or cause you harm. If someone throws an egg at you or whips you, give them a fcuking good hiding! They are less likely to do it again once they've been caught and punished.
The kind of people that throw eggs and try to harm others are stupid dunces, they will not learn by the "quiet word", they need a few broken ribs and a missing ear so they don't forget what happens when they are horrible to others.
Take a deep breath and ask "really?"...
Broken ribs will make them cower into a corner and think about what they have done - and reform themselves, perhaps setting up a bicycle workshop co-op?
Or just remain the same ill-educated, antisocial, aggressive, social scum that they always are.
And, to be honest, even if you lay into them it doesn't ease your feeling of injustice or vengeance.
It is just adrenalin coursing through your veins. No more, no less.

To be fair, I think the best idea WAS for him to buy it and try and find the owner. He could've kept quiet about it, or sold it for a profit.
Saying that, Roland I think you should try harder to find the owner (if you haven't already) - not everyone SS reads this forum.
All suggestions gratefully received - I have to say I am dubious about walking into Brixton Police Station and saying "I bought this bike - I think it is stolen" - simply because I have a feeling that they will raise their eyebrows, say "and? What do you want us to do about it? Fingerprint it and put it on crimewatch?"
If there is a better route than this? Crimestoppers, perhaps? Tried to submit a general enquiry on the Met website, but can't get it to work. Will try from home PC later.
To be honest, the bike is not in a great shape - it is virtually unrideable in its current state so god knows where it came from (skip? dumped?) so although I will try to find its rightful owner, if I don't I will convert it.
I know I am in a moral grey area (to say the least) so if there are other ideas of where I can 'advertise' - or even thoughts on what to do with it - then cool...

I just wrote a play about drugs in cycling, called Pedal Pusher. When I began work on the piece - around 5 years ago - I was a complete Lance Armstrong freak. I completely bought into the legend of the cancer sufferer and Tour de France champion. After all, I used to say, once you have suffered the pain of cancer surely the pain of cycling up a mountain pales in comparison.
Having researched, listened, studied the man, my opinion is very different.
I think it is fairly conclusive he took EPO in 1999 (see interview Michael Ashenden http://nyvelocity.com/content/interviews/2009/michael-ashenden - I know this did not stand up against SCA but my feeling is he took EPO).
Considering that EPO use in the peloton was rife throughout that period, the use of EPO is not enought to damn the man alone. After all, it is fairly certain that Pantani used EPO and Ullrich's performance in 1997 indicates EPO use (see article in June 09 issue of ProCycling)
What I find so distasteful, however, is his holier than though attitude, linked with his bullying, jock-like need to control both the sport and the media that surrounds it. Armstrong wields a huge amount of power within the sport, and many feel that he is preventing attempts to clean up the peloton.
For those with the time, here is Greg LeMond speaking at the "Play the Game" conference - it is 45 minutes longe, but worth it for those with an interest.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDy5NLVkliU
- I think what he says about Armstrong is fairly damning.LeMond who campaigns for a clean sport... Millar who was caught and now, with Garmin works to eradicate doping... Bradley Wiggins, who has published his 'blood passport' on-line... These are my heroes.

An obliging crack-head has just sold me a BLUE VISCOUNT outside Brixton Tube for £2.
Not fixed, but running a bodged SS.
I presume it is stolen, so if it belongs to anyone - or you know whose it is - give me a shout, with the frame ref number (or some other distinguishing info) and you can have it back!

I've just moved (well, 6 months ago ahem) down to Brighton, and was hoping there was a fg social as well.
Is this a weekly?
