Hiring a couple of bikes from List Bike (love the service) for me and gf.
Interested on suggestions for rides out to some nice green spaces/lakes (hoping for good weather) - with a mix of riding and chilling (not looking for an all day sufferfest). I'm a confident cyclist but gf is somewhat less so...so prefer routes that don't involve major roads.
Picking up bikes from Crow Cyclery (Kreuzberg) but we should be good for an afternoon out.
Thoughts on where to go and how to get there gratefully received

Frame and cranks are in working condition although as you can see, less than pristine
Looking for £180 which will include forum donation
Also selling stem and brake if you're looking for parts to complete a build

Is this advertising targeted or blanket across MailOnline base. If the former, then it's no surprise that @dubtap profile is seen as potential Labour voter and is part of generic media buy which happens to include Mail. Definitely more interesting if they are going all in on mass advertising on the Mail

Can't speak for other bikes...I figure proper race bikes are unlikely to cater for fenders out of the box. See this thread https://www.bikeforums.net/general-cycling-discussion/1203060-recommendation-high-end-road-bike-can-have-fenders.html

Yep, there's a Specialized fender bridge

Never tracked the weight. I got lucky with the weather - by that I mean whenever I was setting up/dropping campsite it was never raining although did get my sleeping bag a bit wet at the foot area one night due to overnight rain. Saving was more in space than weight with the bivvy fitting top compartment of my frame bag albeit compressed with some voile straps.

I did a ten day tour of Scotland starting in Edinburgh, riding to Glasgow using the Union and Forth & Clyde Canals, from Glasgow, I used the 2024 Trans Alba route to head north till i got around to Inverness at which point I used the Lochs and Glens Way to return to Glasgow and then did a short overnight trip to the Isle of Bute. With the exception of the Edinburgh > Glasgow route, all were rolling to hilly and found myself pretty empty at the end of most days.
There were plenty of cafes / bakeries along the way but also took camping stove and freeze dried meals so I could ride till I felt like coming to an end.
Weather was very changeable with a fair bit of Scotch mist and only really one dose of proper rain. Given the weather when I kicked off, I was pretty conservative with my clothing - didn't end up using a long sleeve merino cycling jersey spending most of my time in cycling jersey, gilet and arm warmers. The one thing that was formidable though was the wind particularly on the more exposed stretches.
I did pick up three ticks one evening when I was bare foot and in shorts - fortunately had tick remover with me but definitely something to be conscious of. Midges were about but more an inconvenience rather than a major PITA.
Route was pretty much all sealed roads bar the Lochs and Glens Way where there were some doses of gravel but nothing that was troublesome for a loaded bike on 28c slick tyres. There were plenty of single lane roads where passing lanes were the main means of getting passed oncoming traffic. Drivers were generally v courteous although inevitably were some aholes.
One section that was daunting was Applecross Pass which is a beast and reminded me of Hard Knock Pass in the Lake District.
Will get some photos up when I get some time but would firmly recommend although probably helped not going during peak holiday season.

Set up for 10 days around Scotland - Edinburgh > Glasgow > West Coast to Laxford Bridge > south via National Cycle Route 7 > Glasgow > Overnight trip to Isle of Bute.
Bivvy + meths cooking stove. Could probably have cut back a little on warm clothing (weather was pretty mixed when I started out) but pretty happy with set up.

Mini supermarkets...spend a lot of time in Herne Hill (gf lives there) and there's a Tesco and Sainsbury's almost side by side but neither has a strong selection of fruit and veg and what is there tends to be wrapped in loads of plastic. The contrast to where I live in Haringey with local independent grocers/supermarkets where you can actually buy ingredients to make a meal...

Loving what Rodeo Bikes did purchasing beach cruisers from Walmart and riding them on Unbound.
Cycling all too often has a tendency to focus on the bikes and not the cycling and they've flipped the script and much to everyone's surprise, finished the race

I know the Tory party is driven by pensioners but it's also worth reflecting on the fact that the young aren't always altruistic
