Interesting article from someone who describes himself as addicted to Scrabble - for someone who doesn't particularly like the game, found this reassuring

Thanks for the feedback @Alan_tbt, you don't know what generation you're on (my parents on first generation which is apparently type that's most likely to go unsupported)

My parents are using Chromecast to push programmes to their television. They've recently experienced problems with casting not working. Now I know Google have a new Chromecast product but they're stating that old products are still being supported (for the mo). Anyone had any problems with their Chromecast?

That Carradice bag has now passed on to @adamdenw some time ago
Steering on the trek is fine although far from nuanced. The Trek is now my daily rider and typically has pannier bags either on the left or right hand side. I have been through a couple of racks though...

You can add Andreessen Horowitz to that list https://www.theverge.com/2024/7/24/24204706/marc-andreessen-ben-horowitz-a16z-trump-donations

Had a great time in Berlin, reinforced my view that whilst there's a good public transport system, two wheels are the best way to get around (at least in summer) although you can easily clock up some serious miles and city isn't quite as flat as i first thought.
We used Crow Cyclery's bikes which were pretty (old school mountain bikes with front rack) for ride out to Wannsee/Potsdam and picked up bikes from Rent a Bike 44 Neukolln for another day's riding around. The latter whilst not nearly as pretty, at 6 euros a day felt like a steal.
My partner found cycling around Berlin much less stressful than London which I'd put down to both infrastructure and presumed liability laws. In London a painted lane doesn't seem to stop drivers coming in close whereas in Berlin drivers seemed much more respectful.
Thanks for all your advice. Much appreciated

Interested in hearing thoughts on what riding out to Liepnitzsee would be like particularly versus Wannsee? Same situation as before, riding out with gf who rides but not regularly so wanting a route where traffic isn't going to be intimidating and there'll be some swimming in the end. Again really appreciate any feedback. Enjoying the city and the weather is a welcome change from London

Thanks for suggestions @c.h.e.
We're staying in Neukoln although bike pick up / drop off from Kreuzberg
Figure under 50kms is about right (it's definitely going to be party pace)
I might give Teufelsberg a miss as I made it last time i visited (although i did enjoy jumping over the fence) but Teufelssee sounds like a blast
Havelberg likely to be too far for the pair of us without train use
Schwanenwerder looks like a good call
Looking in to Haus am Waldsee and Brücke Museum -
Hiring a couple of bikes from List Bike (love the service) for me and gf.
Interested on suggestions for rides out to some nice green spaces/lakes (hoping for good weather) - with a mix of riding and chilling (not looking for an all day sufferfest). I'm a confident cyclist but gf is somewhat less so...so prefer routes that don't involve major roads.
Picking up bikes from Crow Cyclery (Kreuzberg) but we should be good for an afternoon out.
Thoughts on where to go and how to get there gratefully received

Having watched the Leadville video from last year you get the impression that it's not the most technical of courses where drop bars would be useful
