I still sort of regret not fitting an ally front clutch drum when I rebuilt my tranny instead of the old sintered iron one. If only because 727s have a history of grenading when the sprag fails. (If it fails in 1st - front drum rotates at double engine rpm!!! Urgh...)
I know glides don't have the same problem (not sure on th350 400s.) I still need to stick in a prop loop.
.....And some 3.73s....
you have to draw the line somewhere though as you can spend coin forever.
just chatting to cage guy, should all be done this week. yippee, then clean inside up and hit it with a some white.

busy day chasing up loose ends. got some dry ice to take out all the tar from the inside. most of it came off with just a big spatula, only used the dry ice on the stubborn bits. overall pretty clean, few bits of surface rust, but after a bit of kill rut and a lick of paint, you wouldn't tell the difference.
swapped over the drag wheels, 15x4 interceptors with 165/80/15 federals and 15x8 with 235/60/15 MT drag radials, all fitted nice and snug. then pulled out the powersteering and cleaned up the k-frame, then put in a manual rack. also pulled all the engine wiring out and most of the under dash stuff. just need to unclip the wiring in the boot and it will be all out. while it was together i took a pic of what the end product will roughly look like, the bonnet and grill need to be painted white and silver respectively.
got home and found my manifold waiting.

Tubs?
already mini-tubbed and can fit a 275/60/15 drag radial (equivalent to a 28x10 slick)
bored, so bolted up engine plates mounts and dizzy cover to check fitment. might be able to use the plate to mount the alternator and make it adjustable. found a place to get dry ice, so probably wed will go take out all the tar. need to label and remove loom as well.

work started on my new car. going to dedicated drag car, as the police have cracked down stupidly on modified cars. first thing to strip the interior, as 6 (maybe 8) point cage to be done in the next few weeks. will also use a solid engine plate to mount the engine.
taken delivery of the engine and started talking to the right people.

ls engines run 58psi, whats that 4 bar. sounds like the wrong size. rubber or viton?!
i know nothing of carb's but i want to learn. lucky there is a new section on ls1tech dedicated to carbs :) . only problem is i'll be running an e85 carb. still lots of info floating around.
also i dare not play with electrics in an old car ever again.

just bought a 6.0 litre L98 engine for my new project car. engine de-laminated one of the main bearings, but crank is untouched. perfect for me as was going to re-do most of the bearings. this is a later version of the Ls1 specifically for australia (same engine in my other car). much better starting point as it has the L92 rectangular port heads, which flow 312cfm factory. going to be a lot easier to squeeze out some hp. still going single plane manifold and carby though. so selling a lot of shit that comes with engine, so get an engine for very very cheap.
