Quite a sad story. Hope he gets the help he needs. https://nypost.com/2021/10/07/new-jersey-man-survives-9-story-plunge-by-landing-on-a-bmw/

Not been in this thread for a while so possible this has been posted but this knock off Brompton looks quite good for the money. I've got a real one (and a Merc) so won't be buying one.

Thats James Bond. A legend of South London. I used to love it whenever I saw him about. He has a few different bikes.

If you push in as you unscrew it should engage a bit with the fractured surface of the bolt. Worth a go anyway.
Failing that its possible you could drill the rivnut and replace but you run the risk of drilling the frame too. Find the outer diameter of the rivnut and select the same drill bit. If you manage to drill dead center it shouldn't drill the frame at all. You'd have to remove the BB to get the remainder of the old one out though.
EDIT: forgot to refresh the page, this is from a couple of pages back. Probably solved by now.

OK this is the best I could find. The blade merely rotates as the lever is pulled. Not sure how much its worth the over complicated lever design. Obviously not worth it as they don't seem to make them anymore.
*
Looking like the lost appendage of a baby dolphin, the brake
lever/paddle rotates down and inward as you pull, presumably to take
advantage of the curling motion of your fingers as you apply the
brakes. There's even a conical quarter cog, that can be seen turning,
when the levers in action (there may or may not have a been a cover
over that part - dunno).*
There was a cover. It was shiny silver.

Pretty ugly tbh. I suspect they may be for fishing.
EDIT: Actually they look amazingly like these Quicksilver ones. So they're probably not even real fakes.

Cheap motorbike style locks. I just bought 2 as I missed them when they were posted here before (Halfords? Lidl? Somewhere like that).
1.8m for £6.79
https://www.onbuy.com/gb/18m-chain-lock-bike-bicycle-heavy-duty-security-padlock-motorcycle-motorbike~c10972~p12127697/They do a 1.2m one for slightly more money. Strangely.

For anyone else wondering why he was so loved in Serbia.

Sorry, not good at photographing my bikes. Here it is on an impromptu overnighter (2016 ish). Horribly loaded, front rack was for some gear I was borrowing and yet to collect (after this trip I bought frame bags etc... and ditched the panniers and racks). Those mudguards were awful and didn't last long. The front rack didn't stay either. I've never been able to fit the original front rack since I got rid of cantis. I should put them back really. For looks rather than braking performance. I also swapped the front wheel for an SP Dynamo. Couldn't get another Open 4 CD rim so its a bit of a mismatch at present (Black Open Pro).
Here it is with most of the rest of my bikes (and 2 of my wife's bikes) when we last moved house (non-driveside fail).
Right to left: Raleigh Record Sprint (pub bike, although I have toured and ridden a sportive on it), Onza Trials thing, Salsa Casseroll, Pearson Compass (wife's bike), Madone, GT Avalanche, Singular Swift, Some Alu MTB thing (26" pub bike), Identiti Persona (wife's bike)Not shown: Brompton, Merc (Brompton Clone), BMX, Surly Ogre, Ugly horrible ebike

I've got one of those (60cm and fits my 6'6" frame thanks to the tall headtube). Criminally underused I'm afraid. Especially since we had another baby last month. Its great though. Never selling it. Only cost £150 brand new too (admittedly trade price from when I still worked in bike shops - on offer from Ison to clear old stock).
Quite into this dutch Sparta.
Maguras and Positron. But look at that frame! Love it.
Down tube and seat tube are one piece. Plus I think the headtube is some kind of bilam.
EDIT: I should point out that I'm aware its not a great bike. Some would say ugly. Makes me like it even more.
