Forum wisdom sought on behalf of a friend here in Frankfurt.

At the junction of two back streets, he was hit by a car. Apparently by German law, the car had conventional 'right of way'. The friend wasn't hurt, nor his bike damaged. The car was also fine, but now said friend is receiving lawyer's letters demanding €3000 for emotional injury suffered by the driver. Neither he nor I are German. TBH, the edifice of German law gives me the heeby-jeebies.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience of things in DE? @Oliver Schick?

Thread dredge... Any current wisdom on bike buying in DE, specifically Frankfurt am Main? I'm aware of the flea market here and the kleinanzeigen website. I don't speak German yet... Are there other gumtree-esque options? I'm looking to get a comfortable upright bike til I can ship my tarck bike over...

Hi Hectogon, have MKS Sylvain pedals with clips + spare clips. Pretty low mileage, the last pair I used before going SPD. No straps as they have found uses bikepacking and become a bit manky. £14?
