It's the lowermost part of the pivot bolt that seems to be too long. You can see it here. It's the bolt with the two threads.
Would using the rear brake pivot bolt work?

BRM666 I think the Halfords/Evans type place offer to do all of the paperwork, which is why companies use them exclusively.
Has anyone actually pitched the idea to a boss or their company? How did you go about it?
I tried. It didn't work well. We've just been bought and so they pretty much said "sounds like a great idea but we'll have to have a look at next year". Also about half of the employees live over 50 miles away so there wouldn't be a huge number of people signing up here but maybe at the other sites there would be.

craignasty encountered this problem at work the other day. the pista forks run kinda shallow.
we fitted a rear brake with a slightly longer allen nut.
worked a treatDo you know what length of nut would be needed to mount the front brake? I don't really see how a longer/shorter nut would work because the nut stops moving when the threads on the bolt get to the end of the threads on the nut so no matter how long it was it'll always stop at the same spot. Do I need to cut the bolt? I really don't want to have to do that.

provenrad In an effort to give this thread more cohesiveness:
Could we get badges made saying '_ _ _ _ _ _ enger.' at the bottom?
Then we can fill it in with whatever we want - I like GEEKenger / COMPUTenger at the moment.
[and of course all TAHOMAenger to keep you FONTengers / TYPEFACengers happy. ;-) ]
That sounds quite cool actually.

scott not scot
wayne_f14 hippy, you need a nice cup of tea and a sit down fella
I want one of them mugs....do they do one that holds a whole pack of biscuits though...3 just isn't enough!
Those biscuits better not be getting dunked in that tea. That's one thing that's weird about England. In no other country in the world does the majority of people choose to mate a nice crunchy digestive biscuit with hot tea resulting in a soggy biscuit followed by a slurry at the bottom of the tea cup. I drink oolong tea so I wouldn't do it anyway but it's just crazy

Hey all, I've been trying to do skids and trackstands on my mates pista and to be honest I'm not doing too well. The gearing is 48x16 which is pretty long. I'm trying to convince him to change the gearing to something like 48x18 or 48x20 or maybe changing to 46x16 or 44x16. I've looked at some videos and read some stuff about how to do both but just can't seem to do it. Any tips that you guys can impart?

So today I finalised all my eBay sales and have a means to get £275 by the weekend so I head along to biddlebikes.com to find that they've put the price of the Fuji Track back from £275 inc. P+P to £305 inc. P+P. So I get my charmer hat on and send them a little email. I'll paraphrase "Lower the price of the bike or I'll not buy it. I'm Scottish so you'd better believe me". I get an email back a few hours later from Karl saying that the price was only lowered to beat a competitor (probably cyclesense) and when cyclesense sold out they put the price back up. Karl nicely put the price back down to £275 for me to make my purchase. If anyone wants a cheap production bike tonight is the night to buy it.
So to cut a long story short I now have a Fuji Track on order from biddlebikes.com. I'm sure you're all thoroughly bored of my questions about where to find bikes and how to convert bikes but that comes to an end tonight. Now I just need to ask loads of questions about brake levers, cables, calipers and cogs. Fun fun fun!
