Secretly i think the increasing ubiquity of the aerospoke is nothing to with ride quality, but further evidence that ex-bmx devotees are decamping to the world of fixed en masse. in this respect, aerospokes are not much more than mag wheels. The only reason I toyed with the idea of an aerospoke is because they look like Mags and bring back entertaining childhood memories.
Though I disqualify myself from the en-masse-decamping as I still ride BMX. Agreeed with Mags being shit though. I'd never use them for BMXing. -

Flatlander
Object17
31trum
slamm What chainring is that Object17?
s'mental!profile cranks and imperial chain ring
Quite correct - Pretty though they are I wouldn't recommend them. Apart from the obscene weight you also have to cope with the "never going to be central/round" chainring issue.
Don't get me wrong I've used them for 19 months but I can't in good conscience let other people waste the money as they won't do your fixie justice.
what lenght arms they? and are you running a Ti axle? and wot BB for that matter?
I'm no longer using them but they were 165mm with a profile Euro bottom bracket. I could never quite justify the Ti axle.
Including the chainring as well they weigh in at 2.9something pounds. Weighty. -

hippy
Object17
hippy Object17: Saw you riding East on um a road last night. You were flashin' your pink bits for everyone to see! ;)
Towards Old St. roundabout where I see most other fixers of an 'eve..Yesterday was the first day out with the new improved drivetrain (Dura-ace & EAI) and how could I forget the pink grips too (Secretly I believe these make all the difference).
You should shout next time, provided we weren't speeding in opposite directions that is. Anyways hope you were having fun.
We were speeding in opposite directions.. there was car traffic.. other fixed riders.. you know. It's not you, it's me..
I'll try not to hold it against you but I'll be secretly crying inside. Each missed meeting providing a new layer of density to the core of my being. One day I'll stop moving altogether and break apart knowing what could have been...

Having had my front wheel destroyed last weekend I've been cycling on my mountain bike all week.
Fat grippy tires and heavy small frames (Though thankfully rigid up-front) suck for riding around London.Still I pick up the rebuilt front wheel on Monday so I shouldn't complain.
What's the longest you've been without your Fixed/Single-speed for? Did you suffer seperation anxiety too?

Does Rosie know about this?
