unxetas other way around, fit the zip ties inside the grip while it's off the bars.. It'll slide pretty easy on the bars, but sometimes it can be a pain to pull the zip ties out afterwards.. never thought of pliers though!

I use this for fitting my grips to my bmx too. Makes sliding them round corners a breeze.

Place between three or four zipties through the inside of the grip then slide the grips onto the bar. It's nice and wasy as the zipties holds the rubber away from the bars for friction-less ease. When the grips are in place pull the zip ties out (With a pair of pliers if needs be).

Easy.

Aww shucks. And I was just about to go and by one now. Then take it to a frame builder to have a cable hanger added so I could make it into one of those neat-o geared bikes :]
