prototype know that that BLB sell wheel sets with velocty rims for around £200 but i haven;t had a chance to go back recently to ask about them - does anyone know if they do a 'mix and match' with braking surfaces.

BLB can definitely do a mix and match. I'm not sure what choice of hubs you'd have around the 200 mark though.

Then it becomes a case of, well I'll just replace the rear wheel and cranks to make it a nice fix...May as well swap the bars out...Repaint the frame maybe...Before you know it I've spent a whole load more money :]

I think it's high time I bought another bike [Not that I don't already have two unfinised projects on the go or anything].

It needs to be cheap as its main use will be as a pub, club, anywhere-I-wouldn't-lock-a-nice-bike-as-I'd-expect-it-to-have-disappeared-by-the-time-I-returned kind of bike.

I'd also likely end up using it in winter when the Monika(Surly) doesn't want to go out in the rain/grit.

millierider I think it’s more attractive when you see a pretty girl on a nice bike who actually likes ridding and love's her bike. Not a pretty girl on some random man's bike. I definitely wouldn’t get on some random bike and have him take a photo of me nor would I let some random take a photo of me on my bike (which for some reason 3 people asked at that freewheel thing) STRANGE people. But come on there are girls every where in every country who are attractive – if they ride nice bike’s its a bonus. : )

Just stripped my friends ShitBrownLangster down for a repaint this weekend. I must say with the upgrades that he has done and the now repainted frame it's actually not a bad bike. I mean damn that frame is light.

It's almost worth recommending them to people if they want a cheap starter. All Specialized need to do is sort out the horrific colour schemes.
