Ravensbourne, yer it is good fun, this is/was one of many, i'll still have one left after this though, but its just been sitting on a shelf for a while (it seems that the wind has died this year) i have tried like longboarding along a sea front path, that was good fun, all a bit crazy though, kite biking would just be a death wish though, even more so fixed. lol

Well heres my problem:
I'm slowly building up my fixie bit by bit, but I have had to stall its progress due to bank balance (about £3, i'm a poor art student) but luckily my next paycheck is due in about a week (ish) and i have some stuff on ebay
Power Kite Anyone?
The trouble is I keep looking at the bits I need, and i just can't wait... I can hear my overdraft calling, but so far i'm resisting
Anyone got any ideas of some little things I can go to my frame?
Little free things I can do. -

Unfortunately I have drawn a rather big blank, despite reading through reams and reams of sheldon browns thoughts, and searching many many forums I cant find a rough guide to gear ratios, not how to calculate them but rough recommendations for terrain. I know that everyone is different but i'm just looking for a rough recommendation of what might be good. Cause atm i wouldn't know the difference between a ratio of 3 and a ratio of 6 (though i am aware that its quite a big difference)
Please help

Tommy those hubs look fantastic. thanks for the link, and it yer i'm trying to not skimp too much, but also I dont want to put too much money into something i've never tried before, the way i'm looking at it is: build as cheap as possible initially, see what fixed riding is actually like, and then providing all goes well either upgrade or build another better one. That make sence?
On the update front I do now have a front wheel now. I popped into halfords, (just happened to be passing) and discovered that an old friend worked there now. I told him about my fixie thoughts n how the next thing on the list was wheels, he disappears for a minute and come back holding a wheel, it came in a box of wheels, but was completely un-branded n wasnt on the stock chart, so now for £8 i now have a front wheel, its nice and light, and spins true, so i'm pretty happy with it. -
sorry to disapoint there are only a couple of bikes there atm, and none of any notablility. not really worth a drive. I'm guna start popping down there every few weeks so i'll let you know if anything cool pops up. Yer they kinda laughed when i picked up this broken/semi stripped bike and asked them how much.
that i do...
