scott not scot Just wondered what kinda lights you guys are using?....will a commuter light be cool...or is anyone taking a proper big flood beam light for the dark country roads?
I did the bridges ride with my commuter light. It was fine on the streets, but on the offroad unlighted sections it wasn't good enough. Although it did throw out enough light to see by, it didn't light up enough of the road ahead of me for me to be confident enough to go faster.
Somebody had a really bright light, but I forgot to search him out and ask him what he had.

I'm coming from the South as well, but I'm happy to meet outside BLB, go drinking and then pootle south of the river, meet up with whoever might be late, (maybe have a quick half in another pub) and then start the ride proper going South to North.
OR
Silly Option : we can each take up positions on the North and South ends of Tower Bridge, depending on where we are arriving from, and yell at each other Scottish warrior style to decide the start point.
OR
Silly Option 2: we can each start on the side of the bridge that we arrive from, and then see which zig-zag route reaches Kew Bridge first (RACE!).

mareeoh bbc 5 day
looks like the weather will be ok, cool!! finally ...
...snip...
please someone bring a map that covers all the bridges, just in caseWeather forecast not as good as it used to be, but it still seems okay.
Oh, and my pocket A-Z goes up to Kew bridge.
I'll be trying out a new hydration pack that I'll be using for DD, so don't look at me like I'm a wierdo when I turn up - I know it's overkill for this sort of ride.

How fast do you guys go? (on your bikes, I mean)
I'd like to get some night training in for Dunwich, and this sounds good, but I'm new to fixie riding, I think I'm overgeared, and I'd rather not be left bonked in the badlands.
I'm hoping something faster than an sunday afternoon canalside amble, yet slow enough that we don't all form a line and share the work in the front. Does this sound about right?
