Great pictures Agata.
We should have a whip round so we can get some printed, framed and possibly exhibited in some place like the ICA or Tate!
No really the art of bike polo must be given max. exposure. Then we get sponsorship and funding and other free stuff and we can quit our day jobs and go o tour in a luxurious bus.
Happy/sore Monday folks.

This is a nice way of sortin it out:
http://204.73.203.34/fisso/eng/schpignone.htm
BTW: I like beards so I'm going to this http://www.handlebarclub.co.uk/wbmc.shtml
I admire the groups objectives:
*Objectives:
To promote good relationships between members of moustache and beard clubs throughout the world and to foster networks in the interests of friendship, conviviality and fun.
To encourage and celebrate standards of excellence in the growth, design and presentation of facial hair.
To raise the profile of beard and moustache clubs in order to attract new members and to bring to the general public a topic of interest and fun (put a smile on people’s faces).
To cover the costs of hosting the championships and to raise money for selected charity organizations,
such as The Rockinghorse Appeal The Rockinghorse Appeal and TacheBack.*Awesome!
And I'm gonna visit a new bike workshop called 'Cranks' and hopefully meet the polo crew and get a game in on Sunday.
If it's hot I'm swimming too.
Anyone want to come?

The Purpulator Fixed Shopper?
Why it rules?
- you simply step throught the puny frame during crashes
- wheels less likely to break (smaller and protected by mudguard stays)
- baskets are useful for mallet and polo tucker (beer and bagels)
- strong as fuck
- heavy as fuck; opponents with sexy wheels give you a wide berth.
- not very nickable
- cheap as fuck
- much quicker than you'd think (gear is 38 14 ish)
- unisexy
- long wheelbase means thru bottom bracket play is pimps/easier
- comfy sprung saddle
runcible rakan The fixed shopper was hilarious - both to ride and watch people play on, everyone should have one ;)
....so who wants one? Actually theyr'e everywhere and in many skips all over the place. You can probably pick one up at Waltham Forest:
or if you fancy a trip to historic oxford come to the awesome OCW (we always have shoppers because we fucking love capitalism and shopping of course):
http://www.myspace.com/theoxfordcycleworkshop
Of course the hard bit is fixing them and the Purpulator has a normal freewheel hub with the sprocket wound on super tight with locktite (you won't be winning any skid comps on this). No...no lockring. tactical welding can help.
I'd be up for building some 20" wheels with flip-flop hubs so they can run fixed and ss. And I'd be up for teaching a group to build/fix if folk are interested?
A 5v5 fixed shopper match is going to happen (in time fors tha Film Festival tournament).
Imagine the freekin mirthathon we'll have.
So we need another nine building. Who is in?
- you simply step throught the puny frame during crashes

Smeear, Ill meet you Saturday AM for hat trading? That ok. Name a place? Pref not too near/before the prologue mallarky. And then you can show me where you lot play the game. Somewhere near Brick Lane ja?
TheBrick(Tommy) sorry I ment junction of bricklane and shacklewell street, but it is best to send them to the correct end
FYI we play on tarmac (Currys Car Park) and grass (South Park) in historic Oxford. I like both and use a fixed on the street and mtb in the park. Polo is truly sweet.

Right we've had it playing with ourselves (not funny) and beating Manchester and being beaten by Kent (only because of their stoopid Speedway bikes and fancy mallets...and maybe experience) get on the Oxford tube and come and have a match with the mighty Oxford Supernova Society.
Bicyclogy will be here on 16th and 17th http://www.bicycology.org.uk/future_events/2007_summer_tour.htm
And there will be polo and it will be fun as it always is.Ill be in LDN to ridicule the competitve geared people and get free stuff and hopefully buying a hat or 2 off of Smeear. On Saturday. Shall I bring my mallet ... anyone playing?
Can you bring a couple down to polo this sunday?
