But can't you appreciate that quite a few women get wound up by comments on beauty/cuteness/hotness/boneability, even if you don't understand why? And surely, having appreciated this, the decent thing would be not to make the comments?[/quote
No. I'm not sure how commenting that someone looked nice creates a problem. IF you don't like it then just ignore it. It's how grown ups deal with these things...or at least I do.

your eyes are much more reliable than ears, how do you know an electric car coming up behind you? how do you know a stupid cyclist about to undertake you? etc.
Now, Ed. I never suggested that we get all zen and ride blindfoled :O) My point was simply that occasioanally, I miss something with my eyes ( sometimes because I'm looking the other way - often clocking booty - especially in the Summer) but I hear it coming.

The Driver has been interviewed and the matter has been dealt with accordingly, in line with Company procedures. Unfortunately, I cannot disclose the outcome of any investigation or action taken, only that the Driver has been seen and the matter dealt with appropriately.
*You should write back saying you don't require details, simply confirmation that the driver is a cnt.
Btw...there a FEW good bus drivers...you know, the ones who check their wing mirrors and don't swing out into your path because they know you'll make the lights and they won't. -
I saw two Chinese people with limited English try to get a full-size fridge on a bus at the top of Finchley Road on Sunday afternoon, driver said no..
Funny as fcuk
As for the bike in pieces...I'd plainly refuse to get off the bus if the wheels had been removed and the driver STILL kicked up a fuss, although I think taking it on intact is asking for a big fcuk off.

one - headphone is moot, you need your eyes, not your ears to cycle.
two - yeah cycling in the middle of two lane as oppose to the middle of one of the lane is a little 'I own the road' attitude.
Dunno, Ed. My ears have saved my life on numerous occasions. I ALMOST never ride with music in my ears. When we were kids a mate of mine ended up in coma that way. Had to learn to walk, talk and be toilet-trained all over again. That was leson enough for me.
That said, if you can manage without your ears, then do your thing.

Right.
The previous class was on a Sunday afternoon...which would be a nice but for my part only doable on 26.7 & 6.9.
How long was the last class btw? Most weeks could do a Saturday morning breakfast & wheel building session - bring your own bacon - but would need to finish around 1pm?
I'd be up for a sesh too...missed the last one. Have bacon, will travel. Beer in the morning also sounds like a good look.

hey dude,
better take your bike apart when finished riding on a salty roads... accommodate ball bearing seals in hot bathtub [with you in there]... if you not going to re-grease bike, don't ride on gritted road... advice from north east eu
That was the only thing that stood between me and my first fixed snow ride. It was a HARD choice. My ride whimpered and a little bit of my heart died, but I didn't cave. It was for her own good.

FYI the original post was nearly a year ago.
That's what happens when you're posting quickly instead of doing what you're paid to do during the day :O) )
But the same applies. Maybe I'll just message the dude direct and see how he is. I'd almost managed to forget. Now I'm gonna have nightmares about this shit instead of dreaming about putting my bike back together on the weekend and enjoying a tearful reunion with it
"just flew to stockholm yesterday with british airways, bike in bike bag, with cycling shoes, track pump, tools, wheels and pedals off, frame wrapped in pipe lagging, weighed about 10kg all in, no problems, no extra cost, though british airways are changing their policy about the beginning of october, details below, it seems they have reduced the size of the luggage for sporting equipment,"
Going to Amsterdam or Paris in November and probably flying BA. Does anyone know if my mate and I need to stick our bikes in bags or can we just ride up, bung our bikes on the plane and ride away at the other end?
