They do share the wealth. Most of the big investment banks have donation-matching programs, where the company will match the charity donations made by any of their employees, up to a certain amount per year. At my last company, it was £3000... if I'd donated £3000 to charity, that company would've matched it.
Because of that, I was able to raise £6000 in sponsorship for a London to Barcelona cycle ride, the money went to a children's medical research charity. Loads of people donated £20-50, and a good number of people put in £100-£300. And I'm not the only person who goes around collecting sponsorship for this sort of thing either.
Perhaps because everybody's always telling them what bastards they are...
bankers giving to charity is about as hypocritical as shooting someone so you can patch them up again.

what a stupid thing to say, although i am definitely against wanton spending and risk taking. its usually venture capitalism that has funded some of the best and most radical ideas of the last 20 years dealing with green energy and other industries that arent necessarily economically viable.
changed it now, i guess what i meant by saying that was that he had a go at me for slagging off bankers when in every post ant has made he has said he isnt a banker, just part of that business.

I provide websites that allow our clients to make better decisions on how to invest the money in the pension funds they manage.
How does that impact you, the environment, the community (other than the amount of money we have chucked at polar recently) or anything else?
Fucking communist!
why am i a communist because i dislike the idea that due to the nature of the job bankers are only ever going to put money where they will make more money, such as oil, war and other unsavory business ventures such as academy schools (which do destroy communities), they are never going to put money into places where it is needed because there is never any money to be made there.
also, i know they have a long way to go but the co-operative bank is pretty ethical.
one last thing,
fucking capitalist!

As for city workers, sure there are a few cunts, but most are just doing a job like you and me and a lot of people are now facing ruin - probably half my friends work in the city, and most of them work there so that they can send their kids to goood schools and have a good qulity of life.
tbh i dont understand that whole, im doing it for my family thing, its ike saying fuck everyone else, as long as i have a good house and my kids dont go to school with kids who arnt in exactly the same financial situation as me then i dont care, fuck the enviroment, fuck community fuck other peoples jobs, houses and security. they arnt just doing a job like you or me because them pushing buttons and gambling with other peoples money wont effect them in same way it will effect the rest of us, yet that doesnt seem to sink into them and their actions.
bankers = wankers.

I wouldnt bother with Soho. If you wanna see indie bands or at least some ok bands check white heat at madame jojo's on a tuesday night in Soho, Old Blue Last has bands pretty much every night of the week, Catch on Kingsland Rd pretty much the same. However much people on this forum slag it off if you wanna be around young people in some fun pubs/clubs with decent music then head east and you'll find loads of places round there.
Ruiner should be a pretty good show as long as people actually turn up, Hardcore in london is pretty dreadful. Pelican and Torche are playing the same venue soon which should also be good if you like that kinda thing.

after getting a new back wheel built by this amazing guy i was wondering if anyone else has got anything built by him or knows anything about him. if you dont know about this guy, he has been building wheels for over 55 years, building for all the london stores at one point or another (holdsworth, witcomb, brixton cycles, de ver, apex cycles and probably evans before they became massive) he does all his repairs and wheel building at home on the same day, even though he is over 80 years old. when i went to get the wheel built i turned up on saturday outside his house on railton road and he built the wheel in under 30 mins.

this and that, what i was trying to say that taking it to its logical conclusion it is generally really destructive and bad, and i think that banking could be the perfect example for the destructiveness of it.
however it seems to work for everyone doesn't it so lets just leave it at that...
