The Kent Cyclosportive is reasonably flat, but with a bitch of a climb (One Tree Hill, also known as Carters Hill) about 2 miles before the finish. Anyone getting up that after 140km whether on a fixed, SS or geared bike gets my respect (except anyone with a granny gear!).
By the way, I'll also be entering it.

I'd take the crank off using a crank extractor (Halfords sell one for about a fiver if no-one has one to lend), degrease the BB spindle and the crank area where the spindle enters, do a light re-grease back on the spindle and reassemble.
Give it a week and retighten the crank bolt if required, then (touch wood) all should be well!

** No worries, found one, so ignore, cheers!**
Morning!
Does anyone know where I can get hold of any 8mm track axles? The one I have on my rear wheel is too narrow for my super wide alu rear dropouts, I can get about 2 threads on each track nut if I'm lucky. Need about 145mm, the smallest I could get away with would be about 138-140mm. Preferably in the UK.
I can only assume the wheel belonged to a bike which a) had super narrow dropouts, or b) the owner cut down the axle to save weight, or c) both the previous!
Cheers all

Rang Mr Vaz yesterday for a quote. Home phone diverted straight to mobile phone answerphone so left a message giving details of the work required plus my contact details.
How long should I leave it to try contacting him again? I suppose this question goes out to people who have dealt with him in the past.
Cheers.

Here is my reply from Nigel at CampyOldy.
hello Sam
I really dont know what letters mean.
I was replying to a guy yesterday who wanted 68-SSA which I have and also SPC which held together are identical. Doubtless there is some microscopic difference that Camp felt necessary. Its getting to the point where if it fits the frame and inner ring clears c/stay, its the right one.
You might find info on campyonly.com
Nigel. So if it fits the cranks and frame, then it fits! Not much help though when you're buying something from the States hoping it will fit!
